I find shopkeepers and staff are a lot better at understanding what I'm saying than some people I saw every week before Covid.   Maybe context or maybe just a willingness to help.

    Have a go at this:

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
    Plato
  • I suppose in most countries people will speak at least two languages, it's only Britain that seems to be a bit behind, somehow thinking that English is enough. It's particularly enjoyable comparing the rich and varied ways each language comes to the same meaning via different means. Why would anyone deny themselves the possibilities they open up? Anyway...where's that ADVERT?

He's saying, since you can't be relied upon to obey lockdown restrictions the minute there's a ray of sunshine we've arranged for the weather to take a dive back to winter conditions to keep you all indoors.

  • That's a very bleak outlook on humanity @pansyface but hey, we all have different life experiences.

I used to explain to my primary pupils when they had a little nigger at my accent - "someone who speaks with an accent, is someone who speaks a language that you probably don't."  Language is communication.

And the person who initiated this thread, hasn't even commented on the comments.  So where are you from @markultrablacka4h8cdaj  and/or what language(s) do you speak?

Whoops!!  Sorry for the typing mistake - I did mean giggle - I was only on my first cup of tea this morning when I wrote that!  No offence.

And still no comment from Mark - yet!!

Thank you to the person who pointed that out to me in PM.
