  • Morning @D0rdogne_Damsel! Ramadan started, so ( in theory at least ) the plan is to be up early most days for a month.....!
Kindness is always the right choice.
  • Well at least it's a good time of year to be up and about early this year @Desi_in_London. :)

    Morning all.
Fields are white with frost -2°.

I hope to finish painting the new utility room, the bits I can get at, today. I thought the electrician was coming this week but I've had an email to say he should come on Saturday or Monday next week. It would be good to get some decent lighting in there and heat.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
    That’s healing really quickly @Pat E 👍
Enjoy your early mornings @Desi_in_London  ... it’s a lovely time of year to watch the sun rise 😊
I slept pretty well thanks ... still a bit twingy ... I’ll do the exercises and get OH to rub the Deep Heat in and I’ll be careful about bending/lifting etc ... it’s the time of year for twingy backs isn’t it 🙄

Morning folks, yup, a frost, was -1.6 when I got up,less work today would be nice! Got up at 6.30 yesterday morning, finally stopped at 2, then realised bottom planting, sat down again at 3.30, for a while just enough time to have a hot cross bun(bit dry) cuppa, then off planting again, just put the tools away realised I hadnt planted the second lot of broad beans, not only that they were wilted!I have only seen 2 slugs so far, AND they were both indoors!  My first delivery of petunia plugs, 2 end ones didnt look good though I hadnt watered properly, THEN I came out here about 2.30 am, there was a 2 inch slug munching away on those particular 2.  Hubby found a sneaky one a couple of days back under my potted on plants.

I had an interesting gardening thing today. Hubby took a photo of something growing in my big compost heap which is quite a way from the house so I haven’t been looking in there for a while.  Anyway, the photo showed someTomatillos looking very happy in the heap.  Much frowning and chin scratching!  I haven’t grown them for ages, must be about 7 or 8 years I think. I made chutney with them at that time and haven’t grown them since. Isn’t nature wonderful? I can’t get over the seeds laying in there all that time and keeping stum!   I might have to sollect some seeds and organise some official planting next spring. They wouldn’t like our winter.

Hopefully they’ll produce some ripe seed for you @Pat E 🤞

Oops. I knew my pickles were good, but an inspection of one of unopened the jars in the cupboard showed the date as 1/1/2010.  That also gives me a date of the last time I grew them. Amazing!

Oh the joy of gardening, 😁

Good morning all, Your head is looking good @Pat E it will be more comfortable now. Glad the back is improving @Dovefromabove, as you say this is probably the worst time of the year for backs when we have done very little over the winter months.
It's a lovely sunny morning and less wind today so some gentle gardening for me.
Have a good day everyone.   B)
