For anyone who wants a real visual and aural treat, the original 1936 Night Mail film (with WH Auden reading to Britten’s ‘backing’) is on at 17:35 today on the Talking Pictures channel. ❤️
@punkdoc and @Hostafan1  might be interested ... anyone else?

It can be found on YouTube. I love it, think it was shown in the Bressingham Steam Museum.

    Evening all,

Lovely weather here. Warm enough for some folk to sit outside in, whilst other folk painted some planters :o

Also decided to pot on my first ever lot of de cayenne seedlings. No idea what I'm doing but I've got 9 of them to this point. Some of the roots were a lot longer than I'd imagined so it was probably an overdue move from the seed tray.

A large proportion of the 70+ pots in the garden are showing signs of new growth. I may have lost some stuff (a couple of rose cuttings look like they've given up the ghost) but it looks like a more successful winter than I'd anticipated.

    Evening all.

    Wonderful-looking bakes @D0rdogne_Damsel

    Wonderful- looking menu @punkdoc

Had a day in the garden - mainly pulling weeds and tidying but very enjoyable.

Doing crispy duck, with pancakes, tonight. I forgot to buy Spring onions though 😡.

    Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Your planters look amazing @Biglad - hope they are appreciated.

How many hostas are there to move in the Great Hosta Migration @Hostafan1 ?  Looks like quite an endeavour.

Mulch mountain a bit smaller now, and one bed all completed.  Day off tomorrow, then back at it again on Monday.  Just been for a lovely walk with littlest Chicklet ...ponds, herons, blue sky, sunshine ☀️

I see they turned up after the mulch mountain has been moved, lazy sods! We had "our" doe in the garden through the week and she was joined by a fine young buck on one morning. Post-lockdown extra traffic in the woods next to us might see them taking refuge in the garden more often now.

Hot cross buns are for sale all year round now,I had one for brunch, now hubby had given me a rather large salt caramel Easter egg
  • Evening all,

Sold out of the biscuits! 😱 I'm not making any more now, they should have ordered sooner are my thoughts on the matter - always good to leave them wanting more too, hopefully next time people will get themselves organised. 😅

Had a little bit of excitement today in the garden at CdeG..... extremely gusty wind all day, thought nothing of it until my neighbour telephoned to say both ( not one but both 😱) of my marquees were upsidedown in his garden! Poor man was nearly decapitated whilst enjoying a quiet cigarette at the bottom of his garden,  his concrete washing line post was actually broken in half. I've no idea how they both simultaneously managed to be lifted up and over his high wall, certainly a very strong gust, but they're both my now ready for the scrapheap. Happily he took it very well and I was looking for something more permanent anyway. 😅🙄😅

This was what it looked like before.....

Nice to see you've all had a productive happy day. I'm now going to enjoy my Saturday night wine treat,  another half a kilo lost this week, so I've got some leeway now for a glass or two.

    Enjoy your evening all, 🥂
