Then he's selfish and demanding and taking the pee @nannybeach No wonder his wife doesn't get on with him. He has family and carers. and has plenty of people to help him. I think he just likes people dancing attendance on him. Tell him you can't do it any more ... you're very busy with your own life and family.

Have done that Dove in letter. To be fair, he's told me "stuff" about the wife, which I wouldn't repeat. Its hard, I am a caring person, it's never backfired on me before. When my youngest son was a baby I worked in a nursing home, loved it and the matron. I used to nip in on days off (I worked nights) see residents, get bits of shopping, they always gave me the money either before or after, never got into this situation
@Nanny Beach I remember watching Judge Judy on tv ... have you seen her ... she says 'No good deed goes unpunished' . Stick to your guns. He's either taking the pee or needs much more help than you can give ... if you don't pull the plug no one will reassess his needs.

I have been following your woes with this man @Nanny Beach I agree wholeheartedly with Dove, he is taking the p**s and also verging on emotional blackmail, this really can't go on.
It's 1pm here and the day has turned out to be a glorious spring day. My tomatoes and peppers are out in the sun to start the hardening off process properly - it's been musical plants for the past week/10 days and my tomato plants took on a whitish hue - at least it is a plant that repairs itself! Definitely burnt by the cool breeze.
@D0rdogne_Damsel Bonjour to you too and I do hope you @Floralies, @Busy-Lizzie and @Obelixx are having the same weather. My sister-in-law who lives in Switzerland is a wild swimmer in the Lake Lehman (Geneva) - she has a dip every day! Crazy Helevtia Woman!
Sounds as if the recipe for Tzatkiki that DD has, is worth a go - n'est ce pas? @WonkyWomble So send us the recipe - we love tapas and finger food.
I have been trying to get an appt at a dermatologist as I have the itchies (me of pale skin)! My OH thought it may be insect bites from digging the soil last week - anyway, no luck with a derma so bought some more hydrocortisone cream at the chemist's as it has relieved the itching a bit. It's always worse at night!
So glad that the weather is clement, I think I'll go and start preparing the channels for my veggie garden.
@Nanny Beach I too, have been following this difficult situation you are in. On the last shopping trip you made for him, I would not have left the shopping at the door when he didn't answer your knock, but left and when he phoned, explained that you thought no one was home.
If you wish to continue to do errands for this "gentleman" - then it's probably your worth to visit him prior to shopping for the money up front - even if it means going out of your way and get him to fix up the previous bills before you get him anything else.
Easy for us to give our opinion but difficult for you to do. You are just building up resentment which will lead to an outburst and you won't get your money, unless your husband goes. And when he finds out just how much this gentleman owes you, you will be in the dog house!!
Afternoon all! Glad to hear the head is healing @Pat E, it looked very nasty! @Hostafan1, is your finger supposed to point upwards?! 🤔 Thanks for the hugs @chicky, sounds like a lovely way to spend a morning remembering loved ones through their treasures 😊 Absolutely @tuikowhai34!! Recipie please @D0rdogne_Damsel, there's a queue forming!! 😁
@Nanny Beach I do shopping for a shielding customer of mine. They have something called a companion card which you can top up. Each week they put £100 on it, I can buy their shipping, get cash for their milkman etc so keeping them and me safe. Most banks do something like this, it could help your neighbour.
