  • @Dovefromabove, I am glad you understand me, I am not a fashion conscious person at all really, hate clothes shopping too, but when I go out I like to look smart and yet be comfortable. So, it's not usual for me to even think too much about clothes, yet after all this time it is becoming very tedious t have nowhere to go and nothing to get dressed up for.

I think seeing the BBC news each morning is making me feel worse, of course I am happy to see the good news over there, but frustrating watching everyone go to bars and restaurants when we are still closed with seemingly empty promises of opening soon....

    Good morning.
    Hugs to you @D0rdogne_Damsel
Another lovely, but frosty morning here.
Our hairdresser is coming to give us proper hair cuts at 2.30. Much excitement.

Morning everyone,  frost on shed roof this morning.  Rude awakening this am. It's green bin day and they come very early,  not that we heard the bin men but our bl**dy ndn crashing  & bashing putting his bin away. Damn man seems incapable of doing anything quietly.
DD & Dove, ironically this time of year is often the hardest,  you would think the lengthening days would be the answer but, after a long winter our serotonin levels are at their lowest point.  My late brother often struggled most at this time.

@D0rdogne_Damsel :)  tell you what ... we'll make a 'date' (sort of)  .... whenever it is that we put something nice on and go 'somewhere/anywhere' for the first time, we'll raise a glass to each other and send each other a photo to commemorate the occasion ....... heaven knows when that'll be tho' ... I've not even gone to a supermarket yet ... you go out more than I do and I've had a jab 🤣 but the thought of sitting outside a bar or café with a glass of something long and cold is getting more and more attractive ... problem is no one in my favourite pub would recognise me if I wore my best clothes 😂

@allotmentboy :) it's not helped by that snippet of spring sunshine at the beginning of March and now this long drawn out cold spell ....... and there are some members of my extended family having a particularly tough time at the moment ... I'm the fixer in the family, the person who hands out hugs, cakes and cuppas and solves the problems ... and there's nothing I can do to fix these ones ....... they're too big even for me.  :/

Morning all, I understand how you feel @D0rdogne_Damsel really fed up with all things at the moment. I said to OH one day I will open the door in the morning and it will be warm and not freezing cold. I just feel it is never ending at the moment. I hope the energy levels will improve once the weather warms up, I feel so lazy with this cold weather!

Dove, I was very impressed that you have been wearing your jeans! Very posh! I’ve spent over a year in joggers and pyjama pants!
I do put on cords to do the fortnightly supermarket trip, but even then, I wear fleeces I can sling straight in the wash. It’ll be lovely to get my prettier jumpers and tops out of the wardrobe. I am now wearing trainers round the house though. After 10 months of wearing slippers indoors, I realised that wasn’t doing my feet any good at all.

I know just how you feel @D0rdogne_Damsel.  It was only a few weeks ago that I was saying how jealous I was of you and @Busy-Lizzie being able to meet friends and family for weekends and lunch.  This, too, will pass .....but it’s very difficult living with the restrictions whilst they are here.  Strength to you 🥰.

Had a lovely, lovely visit to Wisley yesterday.  So many changes happening there atm that it’s hard to keep up.  I’ll find (or start) a garden visits thread for more details.... but here’s a taster of the alpine house

But first ,,,,,,it’s time for virtual Zumba 💃💃💃
