Your bamboo is probably Phyllostachys nigra, but all bamboo are not easy to keep in a trough or pot. They take a lot of watering . Hope you are successful
We put golden bamboo in a 70cm pots which are huge snd they are thriving so I’m hoping they will be ok, the trough is massive. I make sure they are watered.
I wish I knew what you were doing that was so fascinating to your neighbour. Are we talking swingers parties and lines of coke off the side of the jacuzzi?
😂🤣 if only I was that exciting !
It’s a very long story (and quite entertaining but also a-bit psycho)but the bottom line is detailing what she sees us doing, who comes to our house, even admits she watches from her window ‘to get a better view’.. 😬
so we are doing all we can to block her out. I can’t move. So this is our only means of trying to block her view of our garden.
That reminds me of when we moved into our first house. The development was laid out 'on the village green principle' according to the developers. That meant houses built on 2 sides of a grass area, and looked really nice. Our house was in the bottom corner of the 'L' so we basically looked straight along the line of the front gardens of the vertical (hopefully haven't lost you yet). The houses had full height picture windows on the front. We had been moving stuff in for about an hour when I noticed somebody sat in the front garden of one of the houses. Nothing strange there, apart from the fact that they weren't looking out over the green, they had the chair facing the front of our house and were supposedly cleaning something. That item must have had a hell of a shine on it as they sat there most of the day looking at what we were doing.

I think living next door to this wacko I'd say "To hell with the law"

I need to protect my privacy and that of my children. Plus it will look lovely so it’s a win win. Not for her as she will complain because that’s what she does.

You realise she is actually breaking the law--you have a right to privacy in your own garden.
I'd consider contacting Citizens' Advice Bureau on the best way to proceed. It could involve mediation in the first instance, she may just need to understand that watching you in your own garden is illegal.

She has already got a Public Order Offence against her after we had to call the police because she abused my husband outside our garden. The council have been involved as well but I’m thinking of getting a solicitor involved because of malicious content of her letter (its actually really nasty and even the police said it was in poor taste). Thank you for the links I will take a look. 😊
