2 things at the moment are making me shout; questions which answer themselves or can only be answered 'very' "how upset were you to come home and find that your house had exploded?". I wait in hope for the day someone replies "Oh, about 26". And weather forecasters' habit of 'the first half of the weekend' and the 'second half of the weekend'. What's wrong with 'Saturday' and 'Sunday'?
Gardening on the edge of Exmoor, in Devon
“It's still magic even if you know how it's done.”
There are some words that some people just can't get their mouths around..."nukuler" (nuclear) springs to mind. Some of it, of course, is to do with where you live. I joined a (short-lived) gardening group and was almost ostracized by one 'gentleman' who couldn't understand why I talked about compost, with the final syllable emphasised as when using it for 'mail'. However, I had lived for 20 years in Canada, which is how it was pronounced over there...I have naturally, in the 10 years since I have been home, reverted to 'English-speak'!!

And the same is true for statements ending with right, right?
