I watched it for the first time in ages. The pots [with the newly acquired plants] were to show what might work next year, as opposed to the first one which was for a winter look.
Funnily enough, I've just been doing something very similar - I often do that with pots anyway, using plants I already have that need moving, or ones that are being grown on.
It's easy enough to do if you pick plants that harmonise in colour - whether it's stems, foliage or flower. Bit of balance with height, shape and size, and some for trailing over edges, and Bob's your uncle   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I thought the Billy Marten thing could have been edited to be shorter as there was a lot of repetition but otherwise enjoyed the whole show.

I was watching it whilst chatting on the phone.
Like most, Never heard of her before. It did seem to go on forever with not much actual gardening and I reckon we saw those tomatoes going into that basket about 4 times.
Will watch again iPlayer with sound this time, and catch second half ( turned over to watch Gogglebox )

I would agree about that bit @Hostafan1 - a lot of rather pointless filler, which spoiled an otherwise good programme.  :)

They definitely repeated that shot! But that gave me the chance to check I wasn't imagining things and her nice basket really was the front cage part of a large desk fan 😆

Just a reminder that there is no GW this week. Instead at 8.30pm, it's further coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show -

" It’s the end of the week at the Chelsea Flower Show, and Monty Don and Joe Swift have the honour of revealing the Plant of the Year and the winner of the BBC RHS People’s Choice Award 2021.

Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri reveals the gorgeous green haven she is creating in rural Wales, Adam Frost shares his tips for loving your garden in winter, and we meet the inspiring woman behind one of this year’s most-talked about gardens. "

  • Oh how dull...they've become a PR arm to bloody Chelsea.

Why do I want to know what musicians think about gardening? Or any 'celebrity' come to that.

They're always at Chelsea during the show.  Holding it in September makes no difference.

I do agree about slebs and gardening.  Who needs 'em?

    8.30pm this evening.

" With autumn fast approaching, Monty is preparing the borders for the change of seasons and looking ahead to Spring.

Adam Frost and Advolly Richmond visit a glorious historic garden in North Yorkshire - Scampston Hall. Advolly will be delving into its fascinating history whilst Adam immerses himself in the design. He reveals how it has changed over the years and meets the head gardener, who is the current custodian of the garden.

We also visit an allotment in Warwickshire without a vegetable in sight. And we get lots of ideas and suggestions from our viewers' own gardens. "
