Those tulips are amazing, @Fire. I was very curious about the scent of Ballerina, so a bit disappointed to hear it’s nothing to write home about.
My Peppermint Stick tulips are quite behind, I have small green buds now. I’m glad it doesn’t flower at the same time with Lady Jane as they are very similar and now that Lady Jane has gone over I can use it for prolonging the season.
Lovely fritillaries, @WillowBark. I wish I had planted some. I’ve tried once and they didn’t flower and attracted lily beetles as well.

@pitter-patter - I wouldn't say that. It may be different / stronger / sweeter for others in other conditions (like roses that change scent on different days, stages and locations). The cool weather seems to be have been brilliant for helping tulips to last, but perhaps reduces scent. I've no idea....
The first poppies are out. So good to see them back.
I put the sleeper bed in a few years ago and it's only now hitting its stride. A outside front tap really helps. It will definitely outlive me.
The little planter in front is doing well too. It's been eight years+ and counting and like new. I think lining with thick plastic really helps. They both dry out fast so thick mulching really helps. It feels like a good use of a small front garden space.
Veronica 'Georgia Blue' just going over. Liaria and globe allium coming on.
I know alot of people say tulips don't flower well after the first year when left, but my queen of the night have flowered for four years, and it's only now they are starting to fade in their fifth.

I am pleased to see the deep red tulips make such a good display in their second year. They were left in the ground to fend for themselves.
