@Athelas I've just bought a clematis Avalanche and it arrived covered in buds and is just about to flower, so it's lovely to see what it will hopefully look like soon!
I tried Tulipa sylvestris and whittalii this year; I think sylvestris has the most impact and works when fairly spaced out (probably because of the multi-headed flowers). So next year I will add a few more sylvestris.

It's lovely isn't it @Victoria Sponge. In an effort to regain control of the garden I've reverted some of the beds to grass, preferring to concentrate on fewer beds but look after them properly rather than letting some get away from me. So that poor thing had to be moved, it was only tiny and I thought it wouldn't make it, but happily I was wrong. 🙂
I do love the alliums but I wish their leaves weren't so untidy.

Nowhere near as big as that @Songbird-1 ! Of the ones l sowed, one is a fair size (if 2 inches high can be classed as a fair size 😊), and there were 2 other smaller ones. As l needed space but they weren't big enough to plant out, l put them all together in a small pot. I think it's been so chilly they've just stopped growing, but they look healthy enough. I will try and remember to take a photo. I have plenty more seeds left so will sow some more
A double tulip and a parrot tulip These were bulbs planted in the autumn of 2019. I had planted 10 each, left them in the pots over the winter, only about half came up this year and are flowering.

Lovely honesty. One of the prettiest weeds in the garden. Desperately trying to detract attention from the incinerating bin behind it...
Tulip Miranda (and violas that I grew from seed but took much longer to flower than I had anticipated)
This bed was covered in ivy and bindweed two years ago. It's slowly knitting together...

And this white one has just opened in the last few days.
