Similar here.  Arrived 4 years ago.   1.4 hectares of which some is paddock and most is wild.  Lots of different soils from well manured former cow pasture to bands of sand and volcanic schist plus hidden farm equipment "roads" and burial grounds for demolished barns so lots of surprises.   And then there are the heatwaves and droughts which didn't feature in the "average weather" researches.

Sometimes it sees like one step forward, 2 steps back.

Droughts are unlikely to be an issue😊

In Ireland maybe but we're on the Atlantic coast too with nothing between us and huge expanses of water that supposedly fills rain clouds.   13 month drought followed our arrival.

  • We're in County Leitrim where reputably land is sold by the gallon not the acre! Lol! It rains a bit more than in our old home in Swindon, Wiltshire. Love it here, not too many people, going for a walk is like 28 Days Later. Been made to feel really welcome by our neighbours.
  • There's many a soft day lol!

  • Thanks for the heads up.
