Morning. Happy birthday Debs. Think we've probably all had lockdown birthdays now - I enjoyed slobbing out with gin and chocolate for. Have a lovely day whatever you're up to. A hot tub would have been grand in this weather.

It's a white world out there - strong winds and light snow grains and cold enough to settle. Temperature is not forecast to rise above 1C until next Saturday🥶 Glad we have plenty of oil and logs.

Are you in an amber alert area Chive? We are yellow but villages 5 miles away are amber so I'm guessing we're going to get some weather over the next few days. Vaccination centres have told people not to come unless they're confident of being able to do so safely.

Might do a bit more sewing or some painting today (watercolours and acrylics - not gloss and emulsion!).

SGL - hope your OH can get his jab. If not, I'm sure he'll be called back very soon.

That is my preferred choice @Ladybird4. Just need to get it through Quality Control ;) I like the matching top dressing idea - the shopping list is growing!

The Marsh family's latest offering is brilliant. Not only clever lyrics but the whole family are actually very, very good singers. Well worth a listen!

  • Good Morning Topbird & Hazel,
Yes we have an Amber weather warning Topbird and looking outside now it is properly snowing, the gusts are blowing it around but it has settled. I hope you stay nice and warm with the wood burner,
LB I’m pleased you slept well, I did too thank you and I’d had a snooze on the sofa before going to bed really am more akin to a cat,
Hazel I hope you slept better last night, is your eye less swollen today? I saw the Marsh family they are superb, very talented and entertaining 😀 One Day More is my favourite,
Fingers crossed for SGL and her OH if he is able to travel for his vaccine today.
    Have a lovely day everyone.
  • A Happy Birthdayto you Debs 😺🦋.  Have a lovely day.  Ante have a restful day after your hard work. Chive It’s Lily’s tv day today.  I had an extra snooze this morning.  Top bird enjoy your hobbies today.  It’s been about ten years since I’ve painted which was at a class and all the equipment was supplied, enjoyable nonetheless.  Biglad I do like the first choice very much.  I hope all those with bad weather are okay.  LB shame about the rugby.  LB bread is baking in the bread oven.  Hazel have a good day.  Lily I hope all okay for today.

SGL I’m pleased to hear your OH had a lift from your eldest son to get his vaccine done, I hope it all went well and he’s safely back home now.
I’m listening to the replay of the interview by Michael Ball & Captain Tom on the radio, it’s brought tears to my eyes.
  • Hello all

At around 8.20am our internet went off. Tried resetting the router and nothing. First thought was its a problem with us. I soon found out it wasn't. Sky internet had an outage across North Yorkshire. It finally came back on around 11.45. It's amazing how we much we rely on internet without realising it. I wanted to watch a programme on Netflix, couldn't. I will pop married at first sight Australia off on demand. Oh dear, no internet to download it. I am currently watching Snooker Shootout. Love snooker (we are hopefully going to watch it later in the year) but love shootout as it is so fast paced.

Weather this morning. Snow showers. Laying on roofs, cars etc.. but thankfully roads and pavements clear. Had a wander down to the compost heap earlier and it was lovely seeing shoots surrounded by a dusting of snow.

Happy Birthday Debs. I hope you have a lovely day.

SGL that cake looks very appetising, would love a big slice out of it

Chive I hope that the snow is  ot too disruptive for you. Hope you stay warm and if you have. This also extends to all who have snow.

Hi folks,  Cold and grey here but no snow, only minor flurries forecast so we should be OK this time.
SIL is no better.  Firstborn has got so desperate for a doctor to look at him that she has managed to get him into the car and driven him to A&E.  They wouldn't let her in but have taken him in to check him out.  According to the dates he tested positive he is no longer contageous.  I'm waiting to here what they say.  Firstborn's postcode is WR3 which is the Worcester postcode where they are checking all adults for the South African variant.
I haven't anything planned today.  I have set up a new cross stitch on the frame and the threads were delivered yesterday so I could start that.  I also have everything ready in the conservatory to start sowing a few seeds.
Stay warm and safe everyone, especially those in the snow belt.

Typed this earlier but for some reason forgot to post it.  Since I wrote the above Firstborn has phoned to say that they might be keeping SIL in as they think the virus is attacking his lungs.  We'll just have to wait and see.
