  • morning all , sun's out , don't think we had more snow overnight but the bits we have are now ice. Tooth extraction went ok yesterday considering some of the recent experiences I have heard/read about... perhaps the liquid only diet for a couple days will shift a lockdown lb or two!

Thanks for the early morning jollity @Pat E !
Kindness is always the right choice.
  • Morning @Desi_in_London @Dovefromabove and @Pat E

Fingers crossed for a clean heal on your tooth, mine has been surprisingly trouble free thankfully, just that strange sensation where the hole feels cavernous when actually it's tiny. 🤔

We have sunshine here and the weekend forecast is looking promising in terms of getting out in the garden.😎

Off to visit my friend in hospital again, I'm hoping he's improved after all the problems last week. Before this he was so strong and full of life, certainly makes one take stock and appreciate the moment.

My seedlings are all doing well, I've got them out in the sunshine this morning in a sheltered spot.

That was after the local (hopeful) squirrel had decided there was nothing going. 😆

Good morning all, evening @Pat E thanks for the giggle  🤣
    Here's another for you all.....
Picture the scene,  frustrated with being indoors,  I decided to sit and have my cuppa in the greenhouse and look at all my hibernating plants.  Harrie the cat joined me as it is very snowy and she doesn't like cold feet! We were very happy.
Then the roof panel above us caved in and dropped the vast amount of snow that was on it,  on us!! Lucky its hard plastic panels!!
Harrie doesn't like the greenhouse now!
    🙄🥺🥶
  • Morning @WonkyWomble, that was a rather chilly start, I was watching something on the news about wild swimming, good for your health apparently, maybe a snow shower is too. 😱❄️❄️ Poor cat.

oh no @WonkyWomble 🤦🏼‍♀️ Not a good start to the day for you, the cat, or your hibernating plants 😱

Going to spend a day with my college books 📚 today in an attempt to get to grips with what we learned yesterday.  Plants for autumn/winter interest in the morning and Apples in the sfternoon.  My trusty RHS encyclodedias will be getting well thumbed.

Got another gardening zoom lecture for my own garden club tonight.  Always feel a bit nervous at this stage .....hope it goes well.  As the organiser I feel a personal responsibility that its a success 🤞🏻.  Have had some lovely messages from people after the previous ones, about how good it is to do something that feels “normal”, even if it is in an unfamiliar way.  Watching people chat to their friends before the lecture kicks off is very heartwarming.  Tonight we will be learning about how to create good colour combinations from an artist 🧑‍🎨 turned garden designer 🌸🌾🌿

    Cute squirrel DD.

Wonky that was a good laugh. I read your post aloud to Hubby. I’ve always had a weak spot for Gilbert and Sullivan,  so I couldn’t resist putting that one on. I hope nobody was offended by some of the language. 😁

we’ve had to close the door - there is a brisk  breeze rushing in from the east.

    Morning all.
Sun has come out here too, but the sky still looks quite grey.
Cute squirrel @D0rdogne_Damsel, I hope you find some suitable nuts, squirrels must eat too!

That must have been a horrid shock @WonkyWomble, poor Harrie!

TV satellite man English, has been, says he can set up the French TV, unlike the man from Orange. Also thinks he knows what to do about the faulty Humax box, but says I'm 4th on his list and he's waiting for dry weather as he has to go on the roof. He isn't the same man we had last month for the satellite dishes, he's the experienced TV man that we had at our last house. I hadn't realised that he lives near here.

The wood man said he can't come because the floods have separated him from his wood store. The TV man gave me the number of his wood man who says he can come at the weekend. We are getting very low and the wood burning stove is the main source of heat.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Nooo don't encourage Grey squirrels they cause all kinds of problems.  Rats with furry tails as far as I'm concerned.
Morning all BTW, no more snow, Sunshine now but still bitterly cold .
    AB Still learning
