Well, you may find Celebrity Masterchef (starting tonight) more entertaining than usual @hostafan, given that the lovely Will Kirk is taking part ... and you can pick up some cookery tips too  ;)
Might give it a look  ;)

It's disgusted me over the years just how many top jobs have gone to close friends of Prime Ministers.  Blair seemed to start the trend but the others have been quick to follow.  Do they really believe a mate of theirs is going to be the best person for the job?

I remember watching Panorama during the Thatcher era . It was highlighting the number of QANGOS which were run by the spouses of senior Tory members.

I've  decided  to give in to nature, let the garden go wild for a few weeks and just enjoy the wildlife. Very liberating.

PS wild strawberries and geum urbanm are excluded from this amnesty
Predictive text favours grim urbanum. I'm inclined to agree.

I thought this was the cheerful thread.
Looking at some posts, seems I was wrong..... :/

My RTBC is that my dark sweet peas [Beaujolais] in a pot have recovered from the very dry spell and are producing more lovely buds. A very reliable dark pea. One of my favourites  :)
'Grim' urbanum is making a bid for freedom from the outer reaches of my garden into the desired areas @B3, but I've had words with it...and secateurs  :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Weather lovely after overnight rain (which saves watering,) hubby cutting the grass and edges. I'm just chilling in the summer house, little dog laying in the sun, border collie is terrified of the mower, so cowering in the bedroom. All that's missing,I'd a glass of something!

Our forecast of 27C has been postponed till tomorrow so it's only 24C.  Quite warm enough thank you for treating the oak stuff to an oil massage with finest wire wool.

I like the sound of your Beaujolais @Fairygirl but all our sweet peas were pulled in mid July.  OH didn't water them quite enough i the June heatwave while I was in Belgium and they didn't pick up enough to earn their keep.
