I'm back. Shopping didn't last too long and there wasn't many people.Ā Here is still sunny but very cold.
LB,Ā I just saw snow in Spain on tv.Ā We expecting snow tomorrow afternoon and at monday.Ā Not so much, hope so. It's something I don't looking forward.
Chive,Ā I was sticking strictly to my shopping list, and only few extra things appeared in my basketš.
Morning all. Very very frosty here (still below freezing) but the sun is shining and the fog has cleared a bit to leave a misty start to the day.
Chive - meant to say I'm glad your mum has had both her jabs now. Gives you a little peace of mind at least.Ā
LB - I didn't watch GW last night because I don't really like highlights programmes but maybe it's the tonic we all need.
I'm another one who has to endure a running commentary when I'm watching stuff. Particularly old B&W "stiff upper lip" British movies and costume dramas. "What's this about?" (pause for dramatic eye roll) "No. Don't tell me - girls running round in their nighties falling in love with men who's trousers are too tight"
God forbid I ask lots of relevant questions through F1 / motorbike / travel programmes - much sighing / rolling of eyes / rewinding of the programme. Sometimes I just wait until he's got to the same bit 3 times in a row before interrupting yet again...š
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Iām sorry to hear of your falls LB and Yvie. Ā It can rather shake you up. Ā Iām glad youāre okay. Ā Chive I hope your mum will be protected now. Ā Ante enjoy your shopping trip and wrap up well. Ā Itās snowed again this morning. Ā I donāt think the bin men arrived. Ā Hazel and Purple RoseI gave myself a haircut before Christmas. Ā Ā Iāve been cutting my own hair for about two years now after a bad experience with a mobile hairdresser. Ā I hope you can get to the hairdressers soon. Ā Debs itās good you could get a lift both ways. Ā Lily I hope you get some rest.
Morning Topbird & Rosie, Thank you both Yes Iām feeling less anxious now mum has had the injections, Topbird I like your tactics š Why canāt they learn some TV etiquette?!! Rosie Youāre going to be the only one of us with tidy hair š Ante nice to know youāve got all you need with only a few extras to the list is good š I have a nice pile of flat things to look forward to, at the very least it is a warm job to do.Ā
Wow but its cold outside but blue skies and winter sun - what's not to love. I've filled the bird feeders - front and back. Robby was patiently waiting. I've checked on the greenhouse and all SEEM to be OK although the compost in the pots felt like perma frost. Both water butts are pretty well frozen completely but I did manage to top up the old squash bottles which I keep inside for my house plants. I have also hung out the wet cloth things on the whirligig. Love them getting really frosted. It raises the pile on the towels and makes them super soft. I see its roughly elevenses time. Time for another cuppa methinks.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
What a beautiful snow picture you have shared @Rubee
I have been down to the compost heap (I say been, I ice skated l the way there and back š¤£š¤£) the compost heap top was frozen shut so I took my full caddy back to the house. I noticed than a garden visitor has enjoyed themselves digging up my garden bulbs. I collected them up and put them back in the ground as best I could. I planted some sea holly seeds about a month ago and I have noticed one lot of germination leaves. It is very small and dainty so I will be keeping an eye on it.
Chive good to know your mum has had the jabs. Hopefully she will be protected very soon.
Ante30 I love going to the Supermarket when it is quiet. Especially these days as sometimes when busy it can be a bit of a bun fight with no social distancing.
Going to go and do my lot some bacon sandwiches now and I am gasping for a cup of teaĀ
Oooh - a bacon sarnieš Bit of butter and a smear of ketchup on mine please PR - Oh! and can you make the bacon dead crispy too please? Ta very muchly!

Click and & collect successfully done. Apart from not getting a picture of the chubby little robin that kept perching on the pile of crates that I was packing our order from. Little beggar wasn't observing the 2m for about 10 mins but as soon as I got my phone out, he shot off Ā
I had the tip to myself Two of the staff were on the approach spreading salt but I got up ok and had a leisurely time distributing all the cans, tins, bottles, jars and cardboard that we've accumulated over the last month or so. Very satisfying Ā
Hate to be smug but no shaggy look here - been keeping myself neat and tidy up top for 30 years
