I don't know. You go away and watch a bit of Johnson and a bit of House of Games and look what happens!

My bird feeder has cracked. It's a seed feeder based around a clear plastic tube, which is the part that's cracked, but all the fittings are good quality metal and have years of life left in them. You'd think it would be easy to just replace a plastic tube and it can only be a couple of quid in value but I can't find anything suitable that's cheaper than just buying a whole new feeder. :(ย  It's a very specific diameter sadly as the base fits inside and the lid fits outside so there's no tolerance to change the size. I'll probably have to wait until lockdown is over and head to a garden centre with a tape measure to see if I can butcher a cheap feeder to reuse the tube from that.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

@wild edges Can you not use a piece of plastic sheet and some tape?

What about cutting up an empty pop bottle and using superglue @wild edges or as raisingirl says, tape?

My best plan so far is to cut a section of drainpipe and add a window so I can see the seed level. I assume the birds don't need to see the seed inside. The only problem is the more joints and bits it has the harder it will be to clean.

How bad is the crack? Could it be repaired with outdoor tape, something like this? https://www.toolstation.com/all-weather-tape/p64699

Edit: Have you seen this site? Anything there any use? http://clearplastictube.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=35_106.ย

The same thing happened to mine, I just wrapped it in sellotape, which I've renewed once.ย  It's lasted at least a year.
