Lunch was nice - chicken and veg soup. Still 4 portions of soup to go - haven't definitely had our money's worth from the Christmas bird!😁
Spent this morning sorting through the bookshelves as we brought home a box of ancient mining text books from Yorkshire (dating back to the 1860's). There's now a box of Patricia Cornwell and John Gresham novels by the gate if any of the dog walkers wants to pick one up to read during lockdown (libraries etc are staying closed here).
Right it's quiz time. The only ones I can guess at are:
3 - Netherlands 6 - Singapore 11 - Suet 12 - Jude Law (or was that who Cameron Diaz paired up with....?) 14 - 30 (wild guess!) 15 - Norway 17 - Mice? 18 - 1914 or 15 19 - Stanley Matthews?

7 elvis, 12 Jack black, 10 the griswalds, 11 suet, 16 miracle on 34th street. I couldn’t get on line earlier. I kept being booted out . Lily Sorry to hear nephews girlfriend now having Covid and feeling tired. I hope she’s feeling better soon. We had more snow last night. I’ve been for a walk with dad to get some fresh air. Not many around.
Afties all. T'Bird, I am glad to hear that your nephew-in-law is recovering and I hope that your niece recovers quickly too - if she has any really horrid symptoms.
Bob on with Tommy Lawton Biglad.
Hazel, I've just read that I go into Tier 4 at midnight tonight. It won't make much difference to me at all.

@Topbird You're right Jude Law was her brother not her love interest. Don't think she ended up Jack Black either. She did have a huge crush on Jasper Bloom at the start (don't know his real name)
Hubby's help was a lot of use NOT. He told me the footballer was Albert Finney, I said I thought he was an actor but he assured me it was a footballers name too. Trust me to believe him.
I've checked Hazel and GCs fall in the category of businesses that provide essential goods and services and are allowed to remain open - obviously making sure that they are Covid-secure.

Thank you all for the warm welcome back. l went to our local beach today, Exmouth in Devon. Took the dog who loves running through the waves. Feel energised and the wind definitely helped blow away the cobwebs . We are now in tier 3, from 2 so that will be the last beach walk for a while. I'm a teaching assistant in a large primary school, I work with the foundation children. I admit it has been a very challenging year so far. A lot of my workmates were hoping for a two week delay to the start of term, due to Christmas and families mixing. We will have to be even more vigilant in protecting ourselves now with the more easier to catch strain now in our area. It's wonderful news that the Oxford vaccine is going to be available soon.

Murky but feels quite mild here today.
19. I'm guessing that the footballer is well-known but I think it might be a tad late for Dixie Dean. Tommy Lawton?
