So sorry to hear about your daughter Yvie - it must all be very stressful for her. Just seems totally unreasonable for the government to try to impose this on schools at such very short notice.
Going to have an earlier night - see you all tomorrow.

    Hehe LB,  another WhatsApp funny.
Topbird and LB, you can get 'hooks' for door wreaths. They hook over the top off the door and then theres another hook on the outside of the door to hook the wreath on. Available in many shops including the 100 penny shops, garden centres, the Bobby Dyas shop also the big river store and anywhere selling xmas decs.  I tie mine on to the door knocker....although would depend on the type of knocker.
Chive, my neck still aches a bit, but gradually getting better.

  • This is what I mean.

Good morning all. Got a busy day finishing off bits and bobs today. Lots of wrapping to do and a few things for the post office.
I am shocked to hear that teachers are having to give up their Christmas holiday to work out the logistics of test giving. We have been told that we will be selling the tests at work but not sure about the details. It’s all the usual muddle from this government and piling more stuff onto people already overstretched seems to be their favourite policy. We are also having to open on Boxing Day which I think is so wrong. I won’t be at work myself but surely nobody needs to shop on Boxing Day? There is always a rota of chemists open over Christmas for emergencies by this is just an extra as it falls on a Saturday so we get Monday off. I personally am trying to shop at supermarkets that are NOT opening Boxing Day to support them.
Orange jam sounds yummy Ante, good to hear you are all decorated up everyone, not tried a wreath hook myself but I used those “no mess” hooks on my mantelpiece for the Garland and they are surprisingly strong.

Good morning debs and and all to follow.

Debs, you are early bird this morning. Sorry to hear that you must work on Boxing Day. We also have more confusion and ridiculous decisions from our government. Have a nice day and good luck with wrapping the presents.

After beautiful day yesterday, now is grey and damp morning. I'll go to cottage later and probably bake more biscuits afternoon. Now tea.

    Have a nice day!

Good morning everyone. Yvie, I was appalled when I heard that about teachers and testing. After all they have put in already in these dreadful times. I'm left speechless. Debs, similar for those being asked to go above and beyond their normal working days.
Ha ha SGL, you must have missed my post where I told T'Bird that I had those wreath hangers and have put a wreath on my front door but you saved me having to post a picture. That is the one I was attempting to describe yesterday

Ante, I hope that your morning brightens up a bit for your trip to the cottage.

Ante I don’t personally have to work but 3 of my colleagues do and so do so many retail staff who have put in long hours during this horrible year to look after all of us. I think any shop that opens on Boxing Day is a disgrace!
The poor teachers too it’s completely unfair. Let them all have a rest at Christmas because by January they will otherwise be exhausted. What’s the harm in waiting for the new year to sort out testing?

  • Good Morning Debs, Ante, LB & all to follow,
Debs Disappointing to hear that your chemist will open on Boxing Day, I’m glad you’re not having to work that day. Enjoy getting the last wrapping and parcels sent today. Good to know those no mess hooks have worked for you, I might try ours today,
Ante Have a nice trip to the cottage later, hope the weather cheers up for you.
LB Have your cat sitting duties started? Nice to meet them in advance so you are already acquainted, I hope they have a nice break away.
I have some wrapping to do after a leisurely start, have a good day everyone.
