Lily I hope the power cuts come to an end, sleep well.
  • Morning everyone.
Sorry Rosie, power came back just before my post last night. Didn't word it very well.
My turn to have a broken nights sleep, didn't help that the lamp post opposite stayed on all night, probably because of power cut. Hopefully it will be corrected during the day.
Rained during the night and the wind was howling.
Time for a cup of tea.
    Hope you all slept well.

Morning SGL and all to follow. SGL, what a nightmare for you yesterday. The heavy rain woke me up in the early hours.

Good morning everyone . Lily I hope that you had a torch handy last night .
LB ,i hope that you have a break from the rain ,it seems never ending .
  • Good Morning Lily, LB & Rubee and all to follow,
Lily Rotten to get a power cut in the evening, seems to always happen in the dark. Hope the street light is corrected today, so you are not kept awake by it tonight,
LB I hope you slept a little better, the sound of rain is soothing though not so much if it’s welting it down,
Rubee Hope all is well in your home and you are keeping warm, sorry to hear about your daughter and son in law such a worry,
Time for some breakfast, hope you all have a good day.

Morning Ruby and Chive. The rain does seem to be endless. I suppose its making up for all the lovely weather we had earlier this year. It could be worse - lots of snow. So much that we can't get out at all. I think that would be very stressful.

  • I had to use the torch on my phone to find the torch in the cupboard under the stairs 😂😂 Then found the matches to light a couple of candles. Before I found the torch, (the lights kept flicking on and off)the phone rang to tell us the reason....overhead power cable and two villages......the automated message told me to press buttons on the phone! Which I couldn't see because I'd put my mobile down when I answered the home phone, so I ended quickly scrabbling in the dark for my mobile🙄😂😂  Then we sat in candle light 🕯🕯
    Have a good day everyone

Oh SGL, that story of yours had me chuckling although at the time it must have been very frustrating. I think at one time or another we have all found ourselves in similar situations. We can laugh at them afterwards.

  • Lily 😂 Sorry to laugh but I can just imagine! My FIL finds some very useful gizmos online and one he bought us is a torch that sits in a holder in the plug socket, in the event of a power cut the torch lights up. This is our one…

Bit late now but it might help in the future.
  • 😂😂 LB & Chive, yes must admit I could see the funny side trying to find right buttons on the phone while scrabbling to find my mobile at the same time. 🤣
That looks a good idea Chive, will Google that.
Has gone very dark and chilly this afternoon, looks like its going to pour down.
