    Good Morning Lily,
Our small road has filled with workmen and big machinery, one of which is pumping the water out of the deep holes into the road. Best dig out my welly boots I may have to paddle to work! On the plus side it looks like they are equipped to fill them in too, a truck carrying some sort of aggregate has pulled up now. It’s a shame my little boy is all grown up he would have loved watching all this action and recreating it with his toys 😊

Morning LB, Ante, Chive, Rubee and Mrs B.  Chive I’ve just put the kettle on and made tea, first of the day after some jobs that needed doing.  Ante could you do with some Metatone it’s a pick me up you take when you’re feeling run down.
  • Ooh I'll join you with a cup of tea Rosie 😉

Hi folks,  I share your pain Ante everyone in my immediate family (except me) are teachers and they are all thoroughly exhausted.  This term is bad enough in a normal year but throw Covid into the mix and it borders on the impossible.  There are so many teachers off with Covid or isolating that their schools will have to close down if it carries on, a two week break would have helped immensely so they could regroup and let some of the staff get well and return to work.
I was a bit down this morning but I gave myself a good talking to and went out into the garden.  I have managed to tidy the greenhouse a bit and move a few of the cannas and agapanthus down the garden ready to put them away for the winter.  I've left some of the biggest so that Hubby can help.  I've also managed to empty some of the pots so that I can start to plant the bulbs.  Problem I have at the moment is that the green bin is really full.  It will get emptied next Tuesday so I will just have to fill up the trugs etc until then.  The weather is lovely so I'm going to catch up on the forum, have a cuppa and then hopefully I will have summoned up enough energy to have another go.
Have a good day, whatever you are up to.

Afties all. How annoying is it when you make a comprehensive shopping list, get to the SM only to discover you have left said list at home? I sat in the car and made another list - hoping I would remember everything. There was no shortage of anything in the supermarket and I could actually reach all the stuff I wanted so no need to find a tall man to assist.
Once I arrived back home I couldn't find the list anywhere. Total puzzlement. Then Lily got up off my seat, which I had kindly warmed up for her before I left and guess what? Yep, she was lying on the list. I compared shopping list with my purchases and I hadn't forgotten anything but several more things had leapt into the trolley.
Oh and it is still raining here!
Yvie, I wasn't too happy yesterday - all the broken nights were catching up with me - and like you, I had a stern talk to myself. My 'black dogs' never last very long and although it seems a bit daft, just the getting out of the house was a tonic in itself. I reckon this afternoon I will be putting some more dried fruit into sherry to soak.

Cut out the middle man LB and just drink the sherry, that'll sort the black dog out.
I've been back out in the garden and emptied more pots. I now have 3  overflowing trugs to go with the full green bin.
Next door (who never do any gardening) have called in the experts.  In other words two very dubious characters in an old van are hacking away with chain saws.  I reckon most of the rubbish will end up dumped in a country lane somewhere.
