We have the sparrow hawks in as I said most weeks unfortunately one damaged a leg last week it did fly off, but doubt if it can survive, you are right they are fine birds.

Lovely shots of the cranes and the sparrowhawk and red squirrel (don't like greys) and the foliage colour everyone.  There's a nature reserve about 15km from here with cranes stopping in on their migration and all sorts of other coastal and marshland resident and migratory birds but we can't go and see them from the purpose built public viewing hide at the mo and, oddly, don't get them flying overhead.  There are colonies of storks too not far but I've only seen one pair doing a mating flight in a nearby field and that was 18 months ago.

Love your lone tree @wild edges and hope it gets some mates soon.

Beautiful autumn morning, enjoyed watching the mist slowly clear to reveal the valley.

    Lovely pic @scroggin.
I took the camera with me today, as we had fog which was sweeping in and out, and the trees look good against it

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

@Fairygirl, lovely pictures. Trees make such great subjects, even when they lose their leaves they produce great silhouettes.
