I've never posted a photo so this might go pear shaped If it works it's a snap taken on a walk last week along the Teviot ... some stunning tree colours, and a couple of bonkers dogs enjoying the water.

Thanks for reviving the photo thread, @Fairygirl - lovely stuff!
Now we're locked down again so we can't go on this walk round Loch Grainey cos it's too far away. We only met 2 women with their dogs, plus a farmer hammering in fence posts, when we went last week, so the risk would be minuscule... but we'll keep to the rules. Anyway, this is the view from our lunch spot in the wood by the loch:
...and this is what we saw when we looked up:
When the trees thinned out we got a proper view of the loch:
...which has a completely different character from little Loch Atorick, where we sat and listened to the silence.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Gorgeous @Liriodendron. Your photos are always beautifully composed too. Silence can be deafening, can't it? Lovely to see your pic too @Bee witched. Hope we get some more
Neighbour across from me usually pollards this tree each spring. He didn't this year, so it's been much later to 'turn'. I love the fact that the most recent growth, up top, is defiantly waving it's green leaves.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
We lived round the corner for a long time @Liriodendron , and had a beautiful one in the front garden. I loved seeing it change in autumn, and so did older daughter. It has been butchered by the new owners. Totally unnecessary, as it was never a problem, didn't block light or anything else, wasn't near the house etc. It wouldn't be so bad if it had been done properly [like the one in the pic] but it's beyond hideous
That one is in a south facing aspect, so he usually does a neat job of pollarding it, which is a good compromise .

I'm on hols, staying in an apartment converted from some kind of naval building on the edge of the Charente in the marina. The sky was beautiful last night as I enjoyed a glass of wine. Thought I'd share.
Trees are amazing at this time of year, shame some people feel obliged to hack at them @Fairygirl. 🙄 Not a great pic, but reality of this was beautiful today.
