Well I'm going to ask a pharmacist for advice tomorrow as I've had it a week and it's got worse.wierd thing is I sleep well and am fine for a little while in the morning then it starts to hurt.no fever.but it's really painful
Thankyou.its horrible when pain stops you feeling normal.i feel so sorry for people who live with it all the time.hopefully I will get better soon but for all those out there suffering with long term chronic pain my heart goes out to you.
Doctors say do not put anything smaller than an elbow in your ear. My old GP said you should always seek medical advice for earache, because of the chances of going deaf. pharmacist a good start.
Pharmacist said to contact doctor which I did,and have had a telephone consultation with a nurse practitioner who's written me a script for antibiotics that I can collect after 2pm.so that's a relief!
Well I was seen by a very unkind nurse who said it was a huge lump of compacted earwax! At least I know it's not a perferated ear drum or anything.but it still hurts like mad!I flinched when she went to look in my ear and she told me off.im in pain! Said nhs dont syringe ears anymore.nowhere near me can do it in next 2 weeks.she said olive oil.and co codamol.and no otex said that can irritate it.its already feeling like theirs an animal in there.and im still in pain...
Hello @the tidy gardener I think @Lyn and @SueAtoo had the right idea. Can you get hold of a syringe or rubber ear squirter from your chemist? Try and put some warmed olive oil (or any vegetable oil) into your ear and then after a little wait, say 15 minutes, squirt it out with some warmed water. A saline solution is good (salt melted in boiled water - leave to cool to room temperature). Put a towel onto your shoulder to catch the water. Hopefully, it will move some wax. Can you see a dr about it, despite the "authoritative" nurse? Tui

I went to the dentist as I had tooth ache and after x rays and poking about she said it was my sinuses.
Apparently there are thousands of nerve endings around the sinuses which sometimes touch the endings around the top of the teeth.
Im sure Doc can sort you out.
