Afternoon - breezy & showery today & feeling chilly in the wind. Think we'll light the log burner tonight and the autumn duvet will be replacing the summer one at next bed change. Brrr!

No news really other than the engineer is coming back on Mon afternoon to finish off sorting out the hot water system. It seems to be working now (touch wood!) but it could do with some new bits to reduce the risk of problems recurring.

Have arranged to meet a friend for lunch up in Nth Norfolk next Friday. Hope Boris doesn't scupper those plans on Monday. Don't think he will - both here and there have very low infection rates.

Going to make a nice Rendang curry in a minute - do like a nice bit of spice!

Hope your arm's ok LB. Not sure if I'll get a flu jab this year. Over 50's were told they'd get them but I'm not sure there's enough vaccine to go round. Wouldn't be until end of November at the earliest anyway.

Does anybody know where I can get a really large (75-90 cm diameter) circular alpine pan? Terracotta, stone or corten steel - don't mind - just needs to have drainage holes. Be interesting to see if OH tries to wrap it up if I manage to find one.... (thinking ahead for seasonal gifts for me🤭)

Hi T'Bird, have you looked at 'World of Pots'? Had a fair few rendang curries when Dad was stationed in Kuala Lumpur - delicious. The only thing that I could never get my taste buds round was a dessert called gula melaka. This always seemed to be the follow- on dessert from curries. It is a disgusting sago type mess. Totally revolting to my teenage tastebuds. I doubt I'd even want to try it now!

Afternoon T’bird hope you can get your hot water system sorted out fully on Monday. Your curry sounds good, warm & cozy in front of the log burner what a nice thought. Hope your meet up can go ahead later this week,
Rosie Hope your flu jab doesn’t cause you any after pain either, hope you are relaxing enjoying the tennis,
Sorry Rubee I meant to say I hope you can get your hot water running soon, it’s a nuisance to boil kettles to wash up. Fingers crossed for you on Monday too 🤞
What a lot of plumbing problems have occurred I suppose it is that time of year.
We have holes in the pavements all along our road courtesy of the local gas company replacing pipe work. Our gas is due to be turned off one day this week, it was supposed to be last Tuesday but they are behind on the schedule. I hope it is restored the same day 🥶

    Good evening all.
Came home an hour ago, sorted all bought things and now have break for tea. I found in Lidl Winter tea, almond and vanilla taste. Don't like it. Too sweet and nothing special. I bought more bulbs, but no persimmon tree and apple seedlings. Apparently too early yet for planting them.

T'bird, curry sounds delicious. Hope so that everything will be sorted at Monday.

Chive, also good luck with gas company. My town started to replace old water pipes last autumn. They sorted only one street so far. First c-19, then tourist season and now rain almost everyday.
