Morning everyone , morning LB . Not quite awake . Would have happily stayed in bed this morning, but heating engineer coming from nine o’clock onwards .
    Lovely pic LB .
  • Morning LB, Ruby and all to follow.
I've only just woken up 😕 I'm sure it's the flu jab. Thought I felt better last night.
It's absolutely pouring down here and the wind is howling. Definitely a staying in day.
Hope all goes well with the boiler.
    Take care everyone

Good morning everyone.  LB I was watching the farewell to the BA 747 this morning.  I hope you slept better.

    Morning.
Raining and blowing a hooley. Of course it is - I’m due at the hairdressers at lunchtime 🤨🤣

Fingers crossed things get sorted for you Rubee.

Morning all. Ruby I hope that the engineer gets there soon and sorts out the boiler issue for you. Rosie I watched the last two BA747s take off. Quite emotional, a bit like seeing the last Concorde take off.
T'Bird, snap! I'm at the hairdresser's at 12:30 today and it has become a standing joke that it ALWAYS rains when I am having my hair done. Are the latest statements from wee Scottish wifey going to affect your planned trip to Scotland?
I hope SGL feels less tired soon and that Hazel's quick dash to the shops is successful.

  • Looks like everyone has rain today. I shall get on with my knitting. 🤗
Thank you Hazel, Rosie and LB. I don't feel ill as such, just so tired and lethargic. Perhaps it's a combination of so many sleepless nights and the flu jab. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But at least my arm doesn't ache anymore 😂
Hope you don't get to wet or blown away Topbird and LB going to the hairdressers. I've got another appointment in a couple of weeks, not sure I can last that long. My hair always grows quite quick, but it seems to be growing quicker since the cuts after lockdown.
Hazel hope you manage to get everything you need without getting too wet too.
Have a good day everyone, take care out there today.

LB - strictly speaking the latest offerings from Wee Jimmy Krankie wouldn't affect our trip too much but we probably couldn't do our planned half way stop at Glasgow. We would also have to think twice about our plans for each day if we wanted (for example) to include having lunch out or visiting other hospitality venues.

It's not so much that we would want to drink alcohol with a meal during the day, but more that the majority of eating places in that area are pubs - which may just decide not to open at all for the 2 or 3 weeks if they're not allowed to sell alcohol...

To be honest, we're juggling quite a lot of balls around that time & we're both starting to wonder if it's all worth the effort for 5 days in the Highlands (much as we love being there). It's a long way to go if our plans are constantly being compromised. Sounds a bit defeatist I know but we're not that desperate to get away.

T'Bird, I don't think it sounds defeatist at all, more realistic. Scotland isn't going to go away so any plans can be moved until a less restricted time.

  • I agree Topbird, not defeatist, lots of your plans will probably go out the window and as you  say a long way to go. I don't think I'd want to go away during half term anyway. And the weather looks pretty grim for the next few weeks.
I'd go perhaps early next year when the weather is hopefully dryer and maybe things have started to improve. Probably more things will be open again and your plans can be enjoyed.
Could you have a break nearer home. Although think Boris might close pubs etc too over the half term holidays.
Hope you manage to have a few days somewhere.
