Hope you're all having a good day that eases any problems. I count myself lucky that the overnight wind that followed yesterday's rain wasn't severe enough to cause any damage. It's an unexpected calm, sunny day now. Nipped out earlier for an inspection and was very happy to see that the side border I've been working on shows no signs of waterlogging. It would've have been sodden previously but the new growing medium is looking and feeling top notch  ;)

Afties all. Like Chive and Hazel, Yvie, I wasn't aware that Gabriel had been in hospital - poor little soul. I do hope that he gets home today. A worrying time for you all. Rosie, I can't go and see rellies - they are in lockdown so I haven't seen them for 3 weeks now. We keep in touch though.
Hazel, glad you are back in your element but I'm sure you are champing at the bit to get your new shower in as well.

  • Yvie, I didn't know Gabriel was in hospital either. So very sorry to hear he is poorly. Hope he gets better soon. Enjoy your granddaughter cuddles. Take care of yourself too Yvie.
You've been a busy bee Hazel and your OH too. Enjoy a restful afternoon, feet up with a lovely cup of tea. Hope 23 isn't poorly and you get to see him soon.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday, take care.

Glad that all is safe and sound (and unwaterlogged!) in your garden Biglad. It turned out quite sunny earlier and I did a bit of pottering in the garden but I'm afraid that didn't last too long as its beginning to look stormy again.

  • Oops, you weren't there when I posted  Biglad and LB.
Glad your garden survived the wind and rain @Biglad
Sorry you haven't been able to see your family for so long, 3 weeks is a long time. Thank goodness for Zoom/Skype, phones and WhatsApp!
Still raining here, but at least it's just drizzle now.

Afternoon - another damp and grey day. Garden is enjoying the moisture. I could do to get out there and cut the grass but I can't see that being possible until Wednesday at the earliest.

We've just been discussing birthday and seasonal gifts. Have already decided I'm not doing anything beyond essential shopping in December. It's bad enough normally but I really can't face it with restrictions in place. Need to get ducks in a row (Ante = organised) long before then....

Yvie - so sorry to hear about poor little Gabriel - hope he's home very soon.

Hazel - you seem happy to have got a lot of stuff out of the way this week. Hope it's not too long before the shower's installed and ready to use.

LB - certainly sounds as though your girls' trip away would have been disrupted by the weather this weekend. Always next year... We've still got fingers crossed for Scotland in 3 weeks time.

Ante - spectacular weather for you last night - hope there's no lasting damage to your home. Remember being on a sailing holiday in either Greece or Croatia in September when there was a storm like that. Ferocious wind and rain. Boats overturned in the harbour (not ours!) and parts of the quayside washed away. We rescued some tiny (still blind) kittens who'd been washed down the hillside in a river of mud 🙀 and took them to a rescue centre.

It's quite chilly this afternoon - might light the log burner to snuggle round this evening.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

LB apologies.  I hope it ends for you soon and you can have regular face to face contact., but it’s good you have regular contact.

No worries Rosie. Living within a stone's throw of 3 different areas, even I can't keep up with who is doing what and they are all different.
T'Bird, got my fingers crossed that you get away to Scotland - as long as the wee Scottish wifey doesn't bring out some new legislation. I had to say a little 'aah' when I read your story of the baby kitties. Well done you and your OH! Log burner sounds very nice, can we all come and have a sing song round at yours later?

Chive I’ve just had a shower too, feel g all freshened up.  Hazel a productive day painting.  Biglad it’s good the storm passed by without upheaval.  Ante wild weather for you too.  I’m glad you’re both okay.  Topbird the temperature seems to have dropped here as well.  Wishing you a good evening.  I’m glad you could step in and rescue the very young kittens.  LB I hope you and Lily are okay.
