Hello @Songbird-1 and everyone else. Definitely a more autumnal feel to the day today. That's ok - I rather like autumn. A time for snuggling down and stocking up ย and the weather often provides an excuse for not doing those jobs you should do but don't really feel like doing๐คญ.
It was 26C yesterday and I was digging farmyard manure into the new hedge line ready for planting in a couple of months. Shall we just say I got a little hot and bothered? Not a fan of heat at all.
Cooking a tagine this morning to take away for tomorrow night. Just grateful the new Covid restrictions won't stop me meeting my friends on Friday. There will only be the 2 of us for sure and a 3rd will join us if she's home in time. Looking forward to catching up with them.๐
Will the new restrictions affect anybody on here? Can't imagine many of us are that bothered by pubs and bars closing at 10pm. Sorry things are a bit tougher for LB and Hazel with local restrictions affecting their plans.
Supposed to be going to Scotland in a month's time. Have to wait and see if Nicola says we can go or not....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Look what i just found outside the back door - one of last years 'rescue' hyacinths! Beaded with rain which is still falling, I hope this doesn't mean I missed the festive season!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
@Topbird I think, in theory, I'm affected by some of the new measures. However, as I have no job, zero desire to visit a pub/restaurant and do the weekly food shop via click and collect, my daily life will continue as it has for the last 6 months. In that period, the only time that I've spent in a building other than my house, would be 3 blood donations and a visit to my opticians to check an eye problem.
T'Bird, great news that you can get to see your friends. Definitely not bothered about the 22:00 closure for pubs and bars - I only go once a month to the quiz and as I said the other day, that has been cancelled but it doesn't really have any major effect on any of we quizzers. It has affected my annual French trip with the 'girls' - again something that will happen eventually. I'm just glad we all managed to meet at the garden centre last month.

@Biglad you snuckered in there. My life will not be changing that much either. I can still meet people at a GC and have a meal. Visiting rellies will have to be on that sort of arrangement so I probably won't see them as often as before but I can live with that.

Feeling a bit more like me now I've had breakfast etc.ย The sun has now completely disappeared and the sky is full of big grey clouds. Although it's still very warm.ย ย Love the hyacinth LB, weirdly some of my primroses are in flower too. The front garden is still full of flowers....Rose's are still going potty and the hot lips and Japanese anemones are looking gorgeous. The back however is looking very Autumnal and there are quite a few oak leaves on the ground this morning.ย Nothing has really changed for us either. Pubs certainly don't bother us, we won't be going to any.ย A few near us aren't operating as a pub anyway they have only opened the restaurant side. You can have drinks with your meal at the table, but can't drink before or after the meal. Seems to be working well apparently.ย So unless Boris adds anything on next week it's no different for us.ย Sorry its affecting you Hazel and LB.ย I have the spiny thing going at the moment, but I think I might be hanging it up indoors by the looks of the sky๐ซ Hope everyone is well, especially the ones in the quiet corner. Do hope we see you all soon, take care.
