LB Iāve seen the Miri dancers on tv. Ā They are beautiful. Ā Ante enjoy your homemade pumpkin soup, sounds delicious, good with some crusty bread. Ā A sunny start but cloudy. Ā I hope you all have a good day.
Morning all. My main task for my week off is in the garden, ( weather permitting ). I have got a salix capra kilmarnock'Ā in a bed in the middle of my lawn that will be coming out. I have been attacking the branches over the last few weeks, (it now resembles the spokes of an umbrella), now I have got to get the rest out.Ā Hope you are all well.Ā
Good Morning all, lazy start for me, Rubee Hope you and OH are well, a cup of tea is a good idea,Ā LB Thank you for the weekend š Ā It would be wonderful to see those Northern lights, nice bright start to the today good gardening weather, Rosie, are you still having trouble with the site?, I keep having to sign back in lately, Pauline nice to see you, enjoy your weeks break from work hope you are Keeping well,Ā Lily That Potentilla looks lovely, itāll be a very pretty addition to your garden, have a lovely time with the poppets today,Ā Ante Enjoy your day, time to read, relax with pumpkin soup that sounds perfect, Biglad well done clearing the rubbish wherever itās gone to,Ā Hazel pleased you managed to replace some of your glasses, Iāve yet to do the same. Itās a shame about your glass bowl, with something like that Iād try that famous auction site if it was a particular one you were fond of.Ā
Back home after a short trip away to see Norfolk friends. It was lovely to see them and we were on full transmit for 5 hours. Really MUST do it again soon.š
We were hoping to have a stroll along the cliff top and my friend had set aside some plants for me. However, the weather was truly atrocious so stayed indoors. We had to view her lovely cottage style garden from inside and Iāll have to collect plants another time.
Driving home several roads were on the verge of impassable due to water and I had to manoeuvre past 2 trees which had blown down onto the road. Loads of debris everywhere. Very glad to get home!
Donāt know what to do today. Definitely need to do some Col TT stuff but not in the mood. Could go outside but itās VERY windy (and itās cold) so not sure about that either. Back in Norfolk itās not stopped weeing down and OH (who Iāve left up there for his race meeting this weekend) forgot to pack a waterproof. What a muppet - heāll be permanently soaked through.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hello all. After pottering in the garden and being interrupted by a delivery of compost, I decided to put Lily's TV on. As soon as it had got 10 minutes into the programme, the sun disappeared. Typical!
Ante, I'll get Al to bring you some crumble but your pumpkin soup sounds absolutely delicious. Enjoy your rest and reading day - once the workmen are finished.
Have a lovely afternoon with the poppets SGL. I'll bet they are always glad to see you. Pauline I used to have one of those Kilmarnock willows but the branches just got longer and longer and spread across the ground. In the winds they acted like strimmers, clearing everything in close proximity. Sadly I had to let it go.
T'Bird, that sounds like a very hairy (Ante = scary.) drive home but I'm pleased for you that you managed to visit your friends and get home safely. As you said, the plants will not come to any harm being left for a little longer. I really don't like driving in heavy rain these days.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
It's gone.......now to dig the bed over, add compost and cover with some plastic pea mesh that's in the shed and wait for planting g up in spring. The pea mesh is to try and prevent it becoming a public convenience for the localĀ moggies.Ā
Afternoon everyone, LB A good drying day at the moment as long as the wet things are well pegged on,Ā Tābird It sounds like you really enjoyed a good catch up with your friends, hope you can organise another soon. The weather has been extremely fierce, Iām glad you arrived home safely not an easy drive. Poor OH fancy forgetting his waterproof!Ā Pauline Youāre getting stuck into the garden, good idea with the pea mesh that newly dug ground will be very appealing.Ā Right must push on, enjoy your afternoon.Ā
Well done Pauline. Thats a good job done there and a sensible idea using the mesh. Lily gets very excited when I start clearing places as I'm sure she thinks I'm just digging a big toilet especially for her. Cloth things are doing well on the whirly thing but I'm on red alert for a change in the weather.
Hazel, its good that you are getting these major tasks done before the colder times. A nice new boiler should keep you snuggly this winter. Sorry to hear that you and Rosie are still having trouble getting onto the site. Most odd.
