No idea how anybody can have the bare faced cheek to buy stuff like that. I felt incredibly guilty when I bought 2 bags of rice during the first lot of panic buying - but only because that is one staple I'd be totally lost without.

Have been buying stuff normally over the last 6 months but ensuring there's a spare packet of all the staple - just in case we had to go into 14 days of isolation.

  • SM delivery arrived on time.......no tins of tomatoes. We got toilet rolls, but not what we'd ordered. Wine,Β  but again not what we'd ordered and I'd ordered a 4pt bottle of milk and got 2x 2pts. Also the 2 bottles of handwash i ordered were with the pumps on but they gave me refil bottle types. Good job they were the same ones i have left.Β  The delivery man also told me they had run out of rice and pasta, fortunately i didn't order any as i have that already.
One of my dils had her delivery today too.....didn't get any toilet rolls or eggs πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Why one earth would anyone buy 100 toilet rolls........and why would the shop allow it 😲

I don't bulk buy because of shortages, (or to cause it). I buy soap powder, washing up liquid, softener and toilet rolls from a store that sells in bulk and every few months sends out money off vouchers. Usually stock up every 6 months.

I think that is a great idea Pauline and why wouldn't anyone take advantage of those types of offers, especially when you get money off vouchers too. Being on my own - apart from Lily and the tropical fish, I never run short of anything. I do tend to stockpile Marigolds. I need the small size and not many SM stock these so when I see them I always buy a pair and stash them. This is nothing new though as I've done it forever.

Cooker is now in front garden . It was very heavy . It was made easier by a friends suggestion to pull it along on an old rug ,it works.

Your neighbours will be thinking you have gone in for alfresco dining Ruby. Glad you've got it outside ready for tomorrow.

    Good evening to all!
I was at cottage whole day and came home an hour ago.Β It's raining and it's pretty cold. We didn't expect suddenly such cold weather.
But nevermind, I'm at warm house, have my cup of tea and biscuits and waiting for Poirot.
I see that you again have problem with panic shopping.Β I can't understand how people can't learn on previous mistakes.Β I'm certain that many people here didn't spent flour stocks from last lockdown. Don't need to mention other things.

I hope that all of you had a nice Sunday.
