  • I agree @Lizzie27 but they're temperamental little so and so's aren't they.
@chicky, love your pics and loving following your happy retirement. 🙂
@Fairygirl you need to sort that lot out up there! 😅
@obelixx I do hope Possum pulls it together, but really good she can go into meltdown safely at home with you. So, so difficult for young people at the moment, all seems very hopeless for them. Pleased to hear chooks are making themselves at home too.
@Busy-Lizzie your weekend sounds idyllic. Enjoy. Xx

Would never think of getting in the car to drive to somewhere a load of other folk have congregated to walk up an overpopulated hill, but we're fortunate to be able to walk to the top of our street and out onto a hillside. 10-15 mins and you're on the tops looking down on the valley. We passed maybe a dozen other walkers (one couple twice as we seemed to be doing a similar circuit but in reverse) in over two hours walking. Perfect.

So pleased you got your first hill in, @Fairygirl. Hopefully many more to come.

  • Bought Simon Armitage on the recommendation ....what a delight. Monty's book to be delivered tomorrow.  Lost four hens and two chicks last week, suspect birds of prey. On the positive , our beautiful Cocker Spaniel, Hootie is pregnant so God is opening a window....also stumbled across a local nursery. A wonderful and very knowledgeable lady with a two acre plot displaying her plants in pots then taking the time to take me to a spot to see what they look like once established in their ideal setting.  An hour of my life treasured, thank you Jean,  I will certainly be back x

  • Morning all, have also posted on the Covid thread, but wonder where I can get the very soft flat elastic, on the masks you buy, and those little plastic sliders to adjust same.  I have been using shirring, the flat elastic I have isn't soft or streching enough, it's really uncomfortable.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
@Nanny Beach I bought elastic via Amazon and there’s also EBay ... but that was back in the spring. I don’t know whether there’s still any available ... yes I’ve just checked ... there’s plenty on Amazon, black and white.

    Morning all. Pretty sunrise here.

I have posted on COVID thread @Nanny Beach - just some ideas for improving comfort as masks are just plain uncomfortable whatever the style.

Have a a good day all.

  • Thanks Dove, just ordered, complete with the clips (aka "toggles")  I started wearing masks in shops etc back in March, you couldn't get all this stuff then, I see you can also get the metal strips, I know I put a plea for them on here a few months back.  Course the disposable ones are a bit more "rubbish".  Forcast yesterday said 35% chance of rain, I only looked at the Acuview site on line and only my area, no rain, plenty of wind, bit of sun, got th "whites and lights" done, coloured going out soon.  Hah, I think your surname is Womble Dove. Back in the 60's I desided to try min hand at modeling/medoth acting my surname was right down the alphabet too, (not as far as yours) so I piced one beginning with D, as the inerviews never got down the far.
