Morning all/afties @Pat E. I'm very impressed at you growing those from seed. That's a long time to wait for the result!
Glad you're all still intact @Dovefromabove. Not quite so frosty here today, but a clear sky again. Heating definitely on here the last few mornings for half an hour, and in the evening for a short time as it's single figs by teatime.Ā
Think I might hill tomorrow. Gale force winds forecast on the nearby Munro for today, but calmer tomorrow. Only doing the wee Corbett , but I don't want blown off the top first time I'm back outĀ  :D

  • Morning all,
Lovely trees @Pat Enice and sunny too.
Weather here has really changed, cold wet and windy.Ā  :smirk:
Our dinner party went well last night, although I realised why I like cooking for customers, it's tricky trying to chat/entertain and at the same time cook and present nice food, I like to take time with presentation but didn't like to leave the guests on their own too long. Anyway, it tasted good.Ā
Just read through the news and that is all rather depressing, a bit like our weather. That poor policeman and his family.Ā  :(

I hope all of you are well and not too blown about by the wind. Good day to all.Ā

Hi everyone. Our day was cold and windy, but I wandered around in a short sleeved top. So, it couldn’t have been too bad.Ā

I love growing plants from seeds, hence many of my trees and shrubs are that way.Ā

  • Morning peeps, it was windy yesterday, but lovelly, heating!!!It has gone into single figures twice, it's 7.8c outside now, very fancy blue sky, not a cloud, washing out.Ā  The"Golden Showers" rose, is near the washing line and desided to flower again, with the wind, it's going to be in my washing might have to go and cut that bit off, (don't worry, I wont waste it, it will go in a vase) it's 17c in my north facing kitchen, my heating would be set at 18c anyway.(It's not turned on)Ā  Lounge faces SW, sun hasn't reached there yet.Hubby has 4tog single size duvet, his side of the bed (I apologise for the more delicate talking about my non flowering type bedding!!) I have just a duvet cover.Ā  Oh, I did put a thinish cardi on last night.

    "A thinnish cardi" - they wouldn't be much use here!Ā  :D
Glad it all went well @D0rdogne_Damsel . I echo your comments re the police officer. More cr*p in Paris too. What a mess, what misery - all over the world, in so many ways.Ā
I take my hat off to you @Pat E . I don't have the patience. I haven't stayed in a house long enough to see the fruits of that kind of enterprise anyway, apart from the house round the corner, but my knowledge of growing anything from seed was quite basic, so trees would never have been an optionĀ  ;)

Morning all. I planned to get up early to do a quiet SM shop but I just couldn’t manage the early alarm. I’ll set off soon, so hoping it’s not full of germy panic buyers. My county is on lockdown and I’m back shopping for the parents (if they haven’t managed a delivered shop).Ā
The sun is set to shine all weekend here, but those cloudless skies will bring cold nights. Heating hasn’t gone on...yet...

Have a lovely weekend all. Catch you later.Ā

Good luck @AuntyRach. Daughter said they had the panic buyers in for loo roll the other day. The sooner all the supermarkets do the maximum amounts of certain things, the better. People are selfish idiots.Ā  :/

    Morning all,

Another scorcher here - not a cloud in the sky. Just been out to 'feed' the compost bin and wish I could spend all day in the garden but I've got other stuff going on this aft. Hope this weather lasts through tomorrow.

  • Morning everyone!

Not a cloud in the sky here either, but definitely not a scorcher - first frost of the autumn last night, and it's currently 3C out.Ā  Highest temp predicted to be 12, but that's ok with plenty of layers on - and there's no wind, so it's ideal for sowing the yellow rattle.Ā Ā  :)

Growing trees & shrubs from seed is often no more difficult than veg or sweet peas, @Fairygirl , though I understand the reluctance to do it when you're not going to stay long in any one house.Ā  "Sow and forget" is often my favoured method.Ā  The main requirement is an indelibly-marked label so that, 2 years on, you're not scratching your head and wondering what you've grown.

Hope @punkdoc 's back is improving...

Right.Ā  Better get the washing out.
