.I used to get The Times for the crossword. I actually finished it once! Mostly only got half a dozen answers.
Lockdown got me out of the habit and I don't miss it at all now.

Still like a paper on Saturday, the Times for me.

I listen to the BBC radio news and World Service and surf quite a few of the national and international news and current affairs websites covering a fairly broad spectrum. My son has a very active interest in international politics and often forwards articles and blogs that he thinks I’ll find interesting. If I buy a newspaper it’s likely to be the Guardian or the Observer unless the Times or Telegraph have an article I particularly want to read.

I grew up reading the Guardian and Observer (which made me 'posh' apparently  :open_mouth:) but don't get a national paper now. The local one, occasionally, to check I'm not in the obituaries.

I can't undertake a long train journey without the Telegraph and some special chocolate.  Crossword first, then whatever bits of news appeal.  On the return journey, try to complete the crossword.  But the political views, yeeuurghh.

    Good crossword,though.

They had some article that I found particularly offensive, so I stopped buying it. I can't even remember what the article was about, now.

    Interesting view points.
We're Telegraph readers and have been for years. I remember my father, although he was a staunch Labour supporter, always read it to see what the opposition was doing! if we can't get the Telegraph then it's usually the Times. I'd be lost without my daily paper, keeps me happily occupied for at least an hour, OH takes two hours because he usually does all the crosswords. TV and online news can't compete with the written word IMO
The online BBC news is now particularly dumbed down - I can't stand it.

Having abandoned Corry, I've started watching Ch 4 news. I like it. They're more in depth and cover a wider variety of topics
