    Summer is officially over :(
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

No it's not!  Not till the equinox which will be Tuesday 22nd at 3:30 CET or 1:30 BST.

Meteorological summer is ended.  Today is the first day of autumn according to Carol Kirkwood so it must be true.
This from the Met Office website "By the meteorological calendar, spring will always start on 1 March; ending on 31 May. The seasons are defined as spring (March, April, May), summer (June, July, August), autumn (September, October, November) and winter (December, January, February)."

Can l just say that people who put their bins and recycling out at 1.30am with much banging and crashing are the type to make me feel curmudgeonly.
I can't cope with it being Autumn yet either, so am hanging on until the 22nd.
    I like Carole Kirkwood though.

That's weather!  This is gardening!   In my garden in Harrow spring definitely did not start on the 1st of March and in the Belgian garden I remember one early April when a gardening friend came to visit with her daughter in the Easter hols and we were still having -6C at night!
