@poppyfield64 thanks so much that was such a good post! I love the aloha as well! Do you reckon that’d be ok with kiss me Kate or too similar ?! Thinking of a white clematis behind the arbour ...

@K67 also huge thanks! I had always been scared of bare root but I think I’ll give it a go!

I think it seems I’m better trying the Peter Beale roses and bare root - the complete opposite to what I thought I would...

let’s hope these 50cm x 50 pots are ok after all. I’ll have to work hard from November lol!

    How gorgeous is this?

  • @kathleen_cardwell23 glad you got it and hope it does well for you  :)

Blush Noisette is a lovely one too.  It will be quite a bit paler than Kiss Me Kate and the blooms turn almost white as they age but certainly would not clash colour wise.  There is lots of useful information on roses on this site.  You can see members photos and comments which will help with making your mind up or confuse you even more lol.

  • And this is my Dixieland Linda. Looks a bit wonky here but the main canes are on the outside edge of trellis. Aloha would be the same but pink.

@kathleen_cardwell23 so many choices so little space!
Roses are addictive. When we moved 3 years ago to a new build with their small gardens  I didn't want any, now have 4 and 2 on order plus 14 or so clematis!

Wow @K67 so many! Your garden must be beautiful! I have a new build and I’m trying to make it feel like I’m in a country garden!

Blush Noisette was also on the link I sent from Peter Beales Classic Roses, but more expensive. https://www.classicroses.co.uk/roses/blush-noisette-climbing-rose.html  However, I have bought several roses from Peter Beales garden in Norfolk as OH has a cottage only 20 minute away, and they are always very healthy. Their gardens are wonderful.

My daughter bought a house 3 years ago. She's a complete rose addict now, she has 92 roses!

@Busy-Lizzie That's very pretty. I don't want to hijack the thread but I've been always wondering how people with similar gardens do it that everything is flowering at the same time (or it looks like that). My roses seem to take turns.
