The garden projects featured on the series haven’t received funding from the programme/licence payer. The contributors (including the presenter) undertake and fund the work themselves.
The series was a joy to make and we are delighted that’s it’s receiving a BBC 2 broadcast through this week.
If you’ve enjoyed the series you may be interested in the live Instagram broadcast Gardening Conversations which we run each weekday evening from 7pm to 8pm on @diarmuidgavin
it was from this that the series evolved and features all the expert contributors to the programme answering gardening questions and undertaking planting, propagating and design demonstrations.
I was feeling pretty jaundiced about my garden. Now I feel almost inspired! Look forward to tomorrow's episode, particularly as it will be on after I've been to the dentist😣
I really like this programme too, enjoying different gardens and a different presenter. Thinking that might be because my surroundings don't change. Just had a proper thunderstorm right overhead with wind and lashing rain but I was enjoying a sunny day in Ireland - good stuff!
One thing that struck me was the waterlily, don't have a pond so where this came from who knows but I thought they didn't like moving water? Is that right?

Can't advise about the waterlily l'm afraid @herbaceous, hopefully someone can advise. I liked the garden they did for the lady whose partner had died, a nice design.
I loved the arching water spouts into the separate ponds, also the chunky stone surrounds. Really different gardening programme which held our interest.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
@herbaceous just watched the water feature programme You are right water lilies prefer still water but I did notice they were planted well away from where the water landed.
Thank you @K67 I suppose he knows what he's doing? I googled water lilies out of interest and the first few sites I checked all said still water. But then there are no absolutes in gardening eh?

I've only seen one so far but enjoyed it and have them set to record. Looks like you've all had fun.
