Gardening Together

There is a programme on tonight called Gardening Together with Diarmuid Gavin answering questions and offering practical garden tips. It's on BBC2 at 6.30pm every night this week.
It may be of interest to some of us on the forum but will have to watch it to find out one way or another. Hopefully a decent gardening programme.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, the close planting worked because the site was on different levels. Lovely snippets with advice, loved Mary's garden that was redesigned.

I caught the end of it. There was some useful advice from an elderly lady who's name I didn't catch.
There was also a dog for those who feel this is essential to a gardening programme.
There was a Nigella - type bit at the end which was a bit😖 worthy
I will have a look next week if I remember.

I watched it and enjoyed it. Loved the veranda!
I think the lady you're referring to was Helen Dillon @B3, she was a famous garden designer in her day.
I liked the way they put captions on plants such as "Royal Bumble" so that people can make a note if they're interested.

Helen Dillon still is a very well known gardener/ designer she writes regularly in the RHS journal the Garden. She has been on GW with Monty.

I remember him visiting her "new" garden a few years back. She's very spry for 80 !
I thought Mary's garden was lovely, it added to the house without being to OTT.

I'm sure GW used to label plants back in the day.

    Yes, l think they did.
  • There are six episodes available on iplayer. Have just watched the first and found it very enjoyable. From the intro it sounded like this wasn’t the first series?
