Just any old trousers that I can't wear in public anymore. I've got a nice Dickies gilet though which has all the pockets I need.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Old walking trousers of varying weight and decrepit-ness, and old jeans. Waterproof trousers that were my daughter's.
I don't wear shorts. If it's hot enough for shorts, it's too hot for me.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

As a very young child I 'helped' my mum mow the lawn by feeding the open top of the mower with bits of grass that I picked. That didn't end well! Very careful about keeping all bits away from lawnmowers ever since  :o

Old whatever depending on the season but never jeans as too restrictive or too low waisted to bend and keep them on.  In good weather that's old shorts, usually OH's, or cut off cotton trousers of mine and in cooler weather it's old trousers whose legs are still intact.

I don't like belts and lose things out of pockets so I have tools handy in the polytunnel and potting shed and a trug for anywhere else in the garden.  I have a kneeling pad, somewhere, but tend these days to sit or bend cos of the dodgy knee.

Shorts, t-shirt and sandals - clearly not a proper gardener yet!
I should add that, recently, I've started needing a belt to hold up the shorts! One of the few plus points of 'lockdown'!

Decrepit, paint-splattered jeans, cut-offs for hot weather, but they're a nuisance really because I have skinny legs and my strap-on knee pads won't stay put without trouser legs.  Whatever sensible footwear is no longer fit to be seen.  Wellies for the park in winter because it gets waterlogged.  Old T-shirt and as many layers as weather dictates on the upper half; woolly hat in winter.  Best of all, my ancient denim smock with three big pockets across the front.  This year it finally got too ragged, so I picked it apart, made a paper pattern from it, and I'm making a new one from recycled jeans.

Snuffy cuffs in winter - see page 6 of the "Gardening Crafters" thread.

Thanks all for your input. It's just me then that's a bit vain and would like to look stylish! At almost 70 perhaps it's a bit too late though. 😁
Still so tempted by the Genus trousers .........🤔

I’ve got Genus trousers. Top notch. I can’t say they’re especially stylish though.

For a just-stepped-our-of-the-1950s look but still having panache I like

@Biglad I'll withold judgement until you post a photo 😊
@BenCotto I don't mind sort of stylish just want trousers that fit my expanded waistline without being so baggy I can get two legs down one trouser leg!
To be honest my legs are my best asset coming from the mini skirt era and having very long legs so forget a bit vain and replace with 'very' ☺ but can i justify the cost?
