Problem adding my location

    It's been like that for ages and I reported it too.  They don't seem too bothered about fixing the problem.

    @Fairygirl @jamessayersbrown I could ask my adult son (who's living here during lockdown) as he also has a (significantly more recent than mine) degree in Computer Science but I know his answer would be 'Just Google it'!  He's been saying this for years but not so much in recent years as once he asked "What's for dinner" and I said "Just Google it"!!!

    I would love to help but the last time I offered to experimentally change my location I ended up in Outer Mongolia for several days. Lovely though it was I'm not keen to go back in the middle of a pandemic  :D

    @KT53 - I remember a few people mentioning it before but I assumed it had been fixed, and it was just glitchy again. Obviously not   :/
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Have sort of done a workaround for my location as I've added it to my signature! In bold!

    OK...here's another quirk.  I just tried to go into edit my profile again (I had saved my password on Firefox).  I tried to add the county into my location and I got the permissions error again.

    I signed out of GW site (using cog in top right) and then logged back in again and it let me add the county.

    Perhaps log out and back in again (another classic) and see if that works..... @Bill and Ben

    Problem with using the Signature workaround is that those of us who use the site on our phone for a lot of the time can’t see signatures 😢 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Interesting! I just wish my eyesight was good enough to use the site on my phone. Or maybe I just need a larger phone!

    @Dovefromabove - you need to become a Luddite like me and just have a wee sh***y phone that only has the facility to do texts and the odd emergency phone call  :D
