I remember being in a crowded pub in the days when smoking was allowed. I was holding a full glass in my hand when someone accidentally touched the back of my hand with a lighted cigarette. I instinctively pulled my hand away and threw a half of lager in my face.
Not one of the more obvious dangers of smoking😏
In a similar situation, a fried of mine was singed but had the presence of mine to shout 'Fire' and throw her drink over the idiot with the cigarette.

I spend several hours a day on Zoom and Teams at the moment. You get used to it. I was in a meeting the other day with someone who has a 'meeting owl'. It made me slightly seasick. I'll probably get used to that eventually, as well

Had to look that up. It gave me the willies. I'm assuming you can get them without eyes and a beak😟

From this end I can't actually see the owl, so I don't know. All I see is a picture that drifts slowly from side to side or suddenly swoops round the room when someone sneezes.

I'm pretty sure the meeting owl doesn't screech. And that you don't need one

Maybe you could train a meeting parrot to screech 'bullsh**' at regular intervals.
Now that would be really useful

I zoom for meetings. With larger meetings, I find it very liberating to keep my camera off and my mute button - except when I want to speak. It's more like being on the phone, but with lots of people. More and more I just listen. (All the meetings I'm at have no important visual info - just updating each other).

As with all things, computers are going to offer much more ease of use than a phone. For anything more complicated than texting, (Facebook, video calls, email) ditch the phone and use a computer. Whatsapp is very much easier on a computer, esp if you are in many groups or a group admin.
