    Morning🙂

A very Happy Birthday to you Ante 🍾🍾 🍰🎂 and also to little George. ave a good one both of you (sorry you have to work Ante!).

Good that you're starting to venture out a little SGL. I bought a set of 5 washable masks from Hobbs which are more comfortable to wear than the ones I made or the paper surgical masks. There's a clean one in both cars and the motorhome (in case I forget to put one in my bag), one in my bag and one in the wash. Seems to be working out ok. Navy blue with white polka dots so they look quite nice too.

We're off to help out too LB - same place we went last week. Hope it's as good this time. Just over a mile from the house so we've decided to try to support them once a month going forward. That's the most positive thing about this scheme. If people have tried somewhere and liked it they'll probably go back even without the discount.

    Hope you enjoy your meal.

Been doing more drain stuff this morning - but fingers crossed the saga is close to the end. About to put a wash on so the proof of the pudding will be in a puddle-free floor!!

Hello everyone. Had a wonderful meal out with handy brother and despite being told it was going to be the coldest Autumn Bank Holiday for ages, it turned out to be the exact opposite, well only in that it was sunny, warm and dry. T'Bird, GREAT MINDS, handy brother and I are going to go out once a moth for a meal. I did a load of Lily's TV stuff too when I got home and blow me down but didn't the sun disappear!
These are my masks T'Bird. If you have to wear the blasted things wear some that will give people a laugh - for whatever reason! At least they are all washable and not the disgusting blue plastic ones that a few people are wearing. The bottom one is actually Lily, asleep.

Great masks LB - much more fun than mine!

We had a good meal again and got to speak to the manager who seemed very pleased to hear that we would be returning. While we were there several people were making further bookings.

The scheme has to have been a good thing if it got people back into the habit of going out and spending their pennies again. I know we'll all pay for the discount by way of taxes somewhere along the line - but surely it's better for the government to invest a bit of money now to help get businesses going again when the alternative is to stand back and watch them fail. Then the country would have all the associated costs of loss of tax revenue plus the human misery and financial costs of unemployment. Much less pleasant and more expensive.

Plus just going out for a couple of meals has given many people a much needed boost & feeling of normality and well being - and that is priceless.

PS - It has been absolutely f-f-f-f-f-freezing here today. Heating is on and jumpers and socks are the order of the day.

PPS - no puddles from the washing machine. 🤞clearing out 10 years worth of disgusting soapy sludge from the drain pipes has done the job. Note to self - use washing machine cleaner and drain cleaner more often than once every 10 years.......

Tee hee Hazel, I only saw I was going out 'once a moth' when it was too late to edit. Never mind, everyone will know what I meant. Glad that you didn't have any puddles T'Bird. Saturday and Sunday mornings I put my heating on boost as it was only 17°C and that is way too cool for me.

    Good evening to all!

Thank you all for kind wishes.

I spent birthday best how I could, in garden. We finally have some rain, no much but better than nothing. I'm tired so I'll go to bed soon.

This is my harvest today, and 50 kilo potatoes.
