Good to see you Hazel. Enjoy your quiet day. Don't do too much with the paving slabs.

    Morning everyone,
It rained all night with thunder storms and quite windy too. But now the sun is shining. 🤗
Good to see you Hazel. Sounds like a busy day ahead.
Debs, glad you had a good evening.

A friend of mine went for a meal Tuesday evening, she said it was packed out too and had to wait for someone to leave before she could park. Good that people are going to help with keeping places open, but she said it was really packed with people and actually thought way too many for social distancing, even outside.
Going to try and get out in the garden and do a bit of tidying up, hopefully not too wet underfoot.
    Have a good day everyone

Morning all - a lovely sunny one and pleasant temperatures. Visit to the hairdresser this morning then some light pottering this afternoon.

LB - yes we managed to get the printer upstairs & it’s working well. Fairly quiet and very fast but it’s a big old lump and over the top for what we need. Still - boys and their toys and all that.

OH did manage to get flying yesterday but the plane had a fault so he and his first student turned the first (& only) lesson into a navigation exercise & ferry flight to take it to the engineers in Kent. Aeroclub owner flew down behind them to taxi them home. All turned into a fight against time as the weather closed in.

I love auto transmission - especially in multi-storey car parks😁 One less thing to think about! Think it will be a while before I’d trust a hands-free car though. All the trials I’ve seen have always resulted in some corrective input from the human. That said - I’ve flown on a lot of planes where the flying and landing was done by the plane & not the pilot...

    Must crack on. SYL.

Sis-in-law just forwarded this to me and I thought I'd share a smile with you all.

Everyone PLEASE be careful because people are going crazy from being locked down at home! I was just talking about this with the microwave and the toaster while drinking my tea, and we all agreed that things are getting bad. I didn't mention any of this to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on EVERYTHING!! Certainly couldn't share with the fridge, because he has been acting cold and distant!
In the end the iron straightened me out! She said the situation isn't all that pressing and all the wrinkles will soon get ironed out! The vacuum, however, was very unsympathetic..... told me to just 'suck it up Buttercup'! But the fan was VERY optimistic and gave me hope that it will all blow over soon! The toilet looked a bit flushed and didn't say anything when I asked it's opinion, but the front door said I was becoming unhinged and the door knob told me to get a grip!! You can just about guess what the curtains told me: they told me to "pull myself together!"
    We will survive!!!

Hazel take it easy today.  LB your car seems high tech with six gears.  I hope you get a lot of pleasure driving it.  Topbird glad you’re pleased with the printer.  Lily it sounded quite crowded for your friends meal!  Island hope you’re okay after the wild weather.  It’s a sunny day today with a breeze.

Phew! - it's been warm again today. Not unpleasant but it's stopped me doing as much as I should have.

Hair is much shorter this hair cut. I asked her to cut a lot off as she left it quite a bit longer than normal with the first post-lockdown haircut. Think everyone's hair had grown so long she didn't want people leaving feeling like shorn sheep! Apparently a lot of customers have already had big second hair cuts to get them back to normal.

Hope LB had a good day with her bestie and the pub quiz goes well. So nice to do pre-Covid things again.

Hi folks,  Back from Secondborn's.  I'm really tired after a busy few days.  The boys were good though so that makes it a bit easier.  Secondborn's Mother and Father in law arrived just before I left, it was a bit awkward but at least it's another bridge crossed.  I think Secondborn might come and sleep here tonight, otherwise someone will be on the sofa.
Hubby arrived safely in Turkey and everything is OK.  I've got a few days of peace and quiet now and hopefully I'll be able to get some gardening done.
My last Yaris had 6 gears, it took a while to get used to it but it was fine after a while.  My new car is a Yaris self charging Hybrid and is an automatic.  I always said I would never have one but I absolutely love it.  It's so much more relaxing to drive and I never get less than 60 to the gallon.  I wondered if all electric/hybrid cars were automatic. I'm sure someone will enlighten me.
I'm hoping for a lie in tomorrow but I'm having a new microwave delivered.  It was an extra £20 to specify morning or afternoon so it could come as early as 7a.m.

  • Good evening over yonder. All sounds busy. Basically still storming here. And of course cut off. No easing in sight. Stay safe and stay well.
