Hurrah! Lucky you @Obelixx šĀ Ā Itās the most gorgeous song isnāt it š¶Ā one day I was sitting at my desk feeling carp after a ādifficultā phone call with a parent ... the window by my desk was open andd D.C. by the window was a choisya ... on the choisya not more than 4 ft from me was perched a male blackcap singing his heart out Ā ... nature is a wonderful healer. šĀ

The Devil's Pulpit has been overrun recently after it became famous from film and TV, used to be just a locals secret.
I see that the police booked 70 cars illegally parked on the Balmaha to Rowardennan road at the weekend. Times must have changed as I don't ever remember seeing more than a dozen cars at best on that road and I don't think I ever saw one parked on the road. OH did her PhD at the field station near Rowardennan so we both knew the road well.
I wonder if your OH knows my BIL @steephill? He still did some 'stuff' there until quite recently, as he was a lecturer at Glasgow. Like you, he was from the area.Ā That's the ones I was talking about - those 70. What's worse is that some folk on the walking site were defending them! I think there's just been a huge influx of people to that side - they were having problems even during the lockdown travel limit. As someone said at the time - 95% of the Scottish population doesn't live within five miles of L. Lomond, so why were they there.Ā
It wasn't a spot I was familiar with [ D's Pulpit ] as I don't go there much to walk. It was only so that I could combine Dumgoyne with Earls Seat. The Campsies aren't really my favourite place to go to. I hand't realised they'd used it, so that's why it's a problem. Glen Etive has become hideous since they filmed there Ā
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
What a whinger.Ā Why should a lot of money be spent to install a system that wonāt be needed when he and his pals are back in their usual holiday haunts of the Algarve or Tuscany or Provence or wherever? Ā

Precisely @steephill ... itās like the folk we saw the other day, driving alongside Southwold Harbour in a new shiny Landrover Defender with personalised plates and the logo of a Mayfair car dealership on the spare wheel hub. You know thatās the nearest itāll ever get to off-roading ... repeatedly driving up and down through what is a working harbour and boatyard pi$$ing off the fishermen and boatwrights.š¤¬Ā

Got out on the bikes this evening - Hampshire countryside at its best in the evening sunshine. #lovewherewelive. Ā Which is just as well, as weāll be going nowhere else anytime soon š¤£.
Sorry to hear your Possum plans have had a Covid spanner thrown in the works @Obelixx .... maybe restrictions will be eased by September? Ā Or could she come and stay in France and self isolate when she goes back? Ā Think we are all going to have to get used to COVID spanners š§. Ā This autumn and winter might be quite tough. Ā Hoping I will re-discover my ability to get lost in a novel. Ā Iām normally a voracious reader, but havenāt been able to settle to anything since this pandemic started š³. Ā I donāt think Iām alone (thinkĀ @Liriodendron was having similar problems). Ā
