Match this colour

I just dropped a potted Buddleia Royal Red into a border recently and I am
loving the colour combination with its companion plants.  I don’t want the Buddleia there permanently though.  Can anyone suggest a perennial or shrub with a similar colour

    There's probably a penstemon or a dahlia
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Like it.  Bit too red though.  Want to be heading towards the darker end of the red scale

I just found Dianthus Sweet Black Cherry.  That’s more like it 😁

No doubt. But these colours are fickle, depending on the age of the flower, the light, probably the soil etc. I think it could be magenta, fushia, dark purple depending on the day.

We have a similar buddliea Miss Ruby, and nearby a Clem. vit. purpurea plena elegans looks very good with it.
