Evening all, Just got back from Firstborns. Had a lovely day with Merri and Mabel they are off tomorrow to Menorca, they have a villa there so will be spending 3 and half weeks in the sunshine. The paperwork they have had to fill in now we are out of the EU is awful apparently. Going over to Secondborns tomorrow to see them prior to them spending a week in isolation before going to the Lakes. After that I will have four weeks where I wont see any of them. It's going to be very quiet. Had a new iphone today (Firstborn has just upgraded so I have her cast off) it's a newish model so I'm going to have to get used to a different way of using it. Will be popping into the phone shop tomorrow to get all my contacts, music, apps and photos transferred. Weather not looking too bad for the coming week, so hopefully I'll get some time in the garden.
Evening everyone - we’re home, unpacked, van cleaned, 3 washes done, dinner made & eaten & now collapsed on sofa trying to summon the energy to go and slice some strawbobs. Should really do some emails but have zero enthusiasm for that task tonight.
These strange times are certainly very draining. We had a delicious lunch yesterday in a lovely country pub. The staff were young, chatty and very efficient. It was lovely to do something ‘normal’ - except it wasn’t really. We booked to eat in the bar (rather than the garden or restaurant) where they can now only use 3 tables. Normally the bar would be bustling and full of people jostling to get a drink - but now you cannot approach the bar - everything is table service only so you never get to see who might be in the gardens etc. It all seemed very quiet although the pub was apparently quite busy - we just didn’t get to see any of the other guests except the other 2 tables in the bar. Very strange.
@Songbird-1 - re saving images from internet on ipad. If you press & hold the image you should get a dialogue box asking what you want to do with a copy. If you select ‘Share’ you can choose to email, save it to Dropbox etc. If you select Save to Photos it will do just that. From the Photos App you can email, repost, do whatever you want to do with it - the same as you can with your own photos.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Good evening all. Day was very busy, but I survived. Working in the garden is really relaxing despite painful muscles. After very windy day the evening is calm. The same feeling of tiredness is present here too. Maybe my sunflowers will cheer you up.
Evening all. T'Bird, your story of the meal in the pub does sound very odd. I cannot imagine a quiet pub. It would feel a bit eerie to me. I've just really enjoyed watching Gardener's World tonight. Adam Frost hosted. I learned things I had never heard before, like why you dig square holes and notching trees to promote growth in dormant buds. It was truly interesting. I'll say no more because Ante will probably watch it tomorrow.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Evening LB. Thanks for not saying more about GW.😊 I really looking forward to watch it tomorrow. It's better with one day delay than nothing at all. I just watching seeds online and unfortunately there is no more delivery from UK. This virus cut us off and I must wait for better times.
