Good morning Ante and Chive. I am so stiff this morning from the hedge cutting yesterday! In a way the rain this morning is my friend as I won't be able to cut the inside of the hedge. Ante, enjoy your trip to the cottage. It sounds so nice to hear of woods and mountains. Chive I hope the trip to town goes smoothly and that your Mum gets sorted at the optician's. I should have had my latest pack of contact lenses last month but nothing so far.

    Morning Chive.
Have a safe trip to the town Chive. Say hello to your Mum.

LB, I would love to have some rain, but must wait till Tuesday, forecast promises heavy rain.

Morning Debs, Hazel and Ruby. Debs, at least you have got a date now so you can rearrange things to suit you until the end of September. Hazel, you and your family are not having much luck with cars at the moment. Hope its not a big job. I got my car's MOT booked the other day for Monday 17th. It will have a service as well whilst its there. Will be dropping it off at 08:00 on that morning. How is your weather today Ruby? Will you get out into the garden today?

Hi Hazel. Good idea, I'm in temptation😂.
My house is 100 m away from beach but last time I was in the sea ten years ago. I don't really like it and hate crowded areas.
I thought that this year will be less tourist, but have feeling that half of Germany is here at the moment.

Thank you everyone. We had them round yesterday because forecast all week for today wasn't that great. And I'm so pleased we did now. Although its dry, the sky is very cloudy now and there's a chilly breeze. But we had a lovely afternoon in the garden with cake. And we also had a walk to the duck pond.
Sorry to hear you have car trouble again Hazel, hope everything is ok for the visit to see your mum.
Debs, what a shame they can't start the kitchen earlier, that's a long wait. Hope they gave you a good reason, you've been looking forward to this since before lockdown. 🤞 that it can happen earlier.
Nearly lunch time already ,  see you later

    Afternoon everyone🙂

Sounds like you've all been busy again. Wasn't it hot yesterday? - 35C here and very hot and stuffy overnight. Much more pleasant today.

We had an enjoyable few days with MIL although we didn't do that much. She doesn't want to walk too far and she doesn't like wearing a mask so it limited the options somewhat! She was, however, persuaded to venture into town and visit her favourite store (T K Maxx) where (as usual!) she found several bargains. Then a walk round the town centre and she was in and out of every charity shop looking for jigsaws. She's found them a good way to pass the time in recent weeks. I've lent her some of mine as well so she's gone home with enough to keep her out of mischief for a bit.

Went to Aldeburgh for lunch on Thursday. Perfect seaside day - warm and sunny with a light but refreshing sea breeze. Lots of people about but there's plenty of room for people to spread out so it didn't feel crowded. No amusements or other tacky seaside stuff - just fishermen's huts, nice shops and some decent eating places. Lovely!

OH drove her home yesterday and, fortunately, his brother offered to meet him near Doncaster which probably saved about 2hrs of driving. He was back home by 4pm.

SGL - Happy Birthday to poppet - glad you had a good time yesterday

Debs - bit of a pain about the kitchen but the end of Sept is only 7 or 8 weeks away - it'll fly. Good news about your OH's job - glad he's enjoying it.

Hazel - sorry to hear the car is playing up - hope it's sorted ready for your trip.

Ante & Chey - sorry to hear you've both been under the weather. Hope you're feeling better now.

LB - you'll feel sooo much better once you've had a hair cut!

Chive - hope you manage to fix your fountain. Wonder if they make battery operated pumps? That would be more convenient for the location I'd like some running water - too shady for a solar jobby.

Hello to everyone else. Stay cool and well!

Oh! - the concert's just restarted. NDN is in a 4 piece band and it sounds like they've got together to practice. I think they must be outside to comply with SD regs so all the neighbours are sharing in the music whether they want to or not. They're not bad actually - The Commitments and soft rock style - I'm rather enjoying it!

Lily Happy Birthday to young poppet.  Lily LB and Ante I couldn’t sleep either.  Hazel hope the car is all sorted soon.  LB and Chive it was just my sim I had propagated.  It is £25 to change your number and they propagate the sim at their end.  It takes 24 hours and you just need to update your contacts.  I hope you and mum have a successful trip to the opticians.  LB rest from your hedge endeavours for awhile and take care.
