Good morning! Day off today so round to allotment and bits in the garden to do. Grey and cool but no rain so want to plant up last few bits in shady border. I have about half a dozen plants in pots with no homes rather a mish mash going to find places to pop them. I am so impulsive always buying stuff that looks pretty without thinking where it will go, often it works but sometimes not.Ā
LB not buying plants online as had such bad experiences in the past and we are surrounded by excellent nurseries though itās been tempting with the lockdown situation. T&M are one of the worst in my opinion. At least itās finally resolved.Ā
Chive glad yesterday went well. Anniversaries are always difficult arenāt they?Ā
Can I recommend the film Eurovision to all of you? Funny and fun, a real feel good film I am planning to watch it again this afternoon. Itās Netflix and well worth a watch.Ā
Morning Chive, SGL, Ante, Ruby and Debs. I'm glad that yesterday went as well as it could do Chive and it's nice that Doris came along. I do remember the basket plants Chive. I'm just surprised that GW keeps giving these offers when there are so many complaints. Maybe T&M give them loads of money and they do need sponsors to keep going I suppose. Glad you are enjoying the sun Ante, it will be nice to see your sister again tomorrow. Debs I did see a trailer of that film on Mark Kermode's programme at the weekend. Will Ferrell looked so funny. I think Volcano Man will just be an ear worm for many. I do not have Netflix though.

Morning - cool and breezy again here. Need to spend some time putting together spec sheets for replacement windows and doors. Going to see our chosen company (very local, very small family business) tomorrow to finalise designs etc. Started all this process back in Jan / Feb but then it all got interrupted with events surrounding FIL and then lockdown. It would be good to get a new front door fitted this year if nothing else - the old one is in a right state!
LB - glad your boiler was OK and not in need of ££££ Sorry to hear about your T&M plants. So many poor reviews for plants from them - including one from myself. That was for a freebie won in the Garden Club raffle. A hardy geranium which wasn't the variety on the label....
The company is quite local to me and is a very long established business. Their marketing manager gave a talk to Garden ClubĀ a couple of years ago and was aware of lots of problems - he was quite honest about it. It's a shame they perform so badly. Maybe they should stick to seeds which has always been the reliable side of the business.
Lily - sorry to hear you've more time to spend in isolation but it's probably safest for now. Boring though.
Glad yesterday went ok Chive.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Good Morning Ante, Lily, Rubee, Debs & Tābird, LB The service from T&M needs addressing, as you say to advertise with GW the expectations are high,Ā Ante glad you are getting sunshine now and I hope the preparations for your sisters arrival tomorrow goes well,Ā Rubee thatās good your OH is getting on with using the treadmill, hope you have a good day,Ā Lily oh thatās a long time to have to continue isolating, I suspect we may be joining you if people continue to act in this irresponsible way ā¹ļø Debs I hope Ā you enjoy your day off today, Itās hard to resist a pretty plant Iām sure you will find suitable spots for yours.Ā Hazel Good to get the thumbs up from the garage, hope the car is ready for the journey to see your mum now. It will be nice to see your son & 23 today, Topbird Hope all goes well with the window & door plans, I do remember you starting this earlier in the year.Ā Have a good afternoon everyone.Ā
Hazel, we can meet people outside at a 2 metre distance from 6th of July. But can't go anywhere, like zoos shops etc As we can't go on public transport we can only stay in the villageš¤·š»āāļø I would imagine as you haven't had any letters from the government you can go to see your family as from 6th July. Boris explained.....well in his bumbled fashion last week about going or not going anywhere. Pubs open Saturday so I'm you can see your mum.Ā It's absolutely hissing down nowš
Morning Hazel and T'Bird. Good to get a catch up from you yesterday. Speaking of knocking, I put the CH on for a boost this morning because it was a bit chilly. I sorted handy brothers posters out and went to get the laminator out of the office and the Boiler was making a very odd noise. It was working fine but there was a little noise I had never heard before. I decided to ring Brit Gas. Got a 'voice' and to cut a long story short eventually a real human. She advised me to turn off my boiler immediately at its socket. What a pain. Having gone through all the checks to make sure there wasn't likely to be an explosion/gas leak/alien invasion, I have another engineer booked to come out tomorrow afternoon. I really don't think it is anything serious as it just sounds as if something is vibrating on the boiler housing but I though it sensible to have it checked out. Luckily my shower is electric - thank goodness I didn't let Casper, my plumber, connect the shower to the boiler.

eventually, Iām back on! Ā Hazel itās been rather blustery here too but calmer today. Ā Alfieās fine enjoying himself lounging. Ā Chive Iām glad you had a good day of memories of dad with mum and her friend. Ā LB 100 days of lockdown no wonder Iām getting fidgety. Ā Iāve been pottering and have just had a cup of tea. Ā Have a good day everyone.
Afties all. Sorry to hear you have been having t'internet problems Rosie. Chey many years ago - before you were even thought of, I used to buy all my seeds from T&M and they were fantastic. They had very detailed little booklets for every type of seed and how best to encourage germination. I used to love growing things. What a shame T'Bird that even they know that they are not providing the best in the way of plants. I agree that they should have stuck to their seed provision.
Have you found out if the knocking on the car has been sorted Hazel?

I was going to say I've never had any issues from T+M but then I remembered I always buy seeds from there, never plants! Maybe that's why?
