    You can imagine my reaction when it dawned on me that a rat was in the compost bin on Christmas Eve last year. I have learned that rats hate noise and disturbance so I probably got rid of him within a couple of days just by banging on the bin with a spade every day.

    Still had to persuade OH to turn out the bin in the New Year though. Then I heard one of the neighbours had a rat in their attic 🙀 OMG - I would have died🙀
    Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    I always bang my compost bin before opening it to add more stuff. Just in case. So far, touch wood, I have not had anything untoward happen.
