I've seen those estimates too @Hostafan1 and they interviewed a pair who'd gone to Bournemouth from Hertfordshire.  I'd have thought the Essex coast was closer and easier to get to from there.

I’d love to hear him pronounce Happisburgh (Hazebro’ ) ... or Wymondham (Windum), Costessey (Cossie) or even Hautbois (‘Obbis .... yes, really!)

60+ years ago we used to go to Jaywick Sands for holidays and it was lovely. Maybe with hindsight a bit ramshackle but clean and tidy with a wonderful beach.

The Essex coast was worse!  Did you see the pictures of Sarfend, (Southend)
we often went to Southend as youngsters, a good funfair and lights and fish n chips, but to sit on the beach😱. It’s more like mud and you can sink in it if not careful.

Just got the big fan on a stand out of the attic. Took it out of the sack. Springs and a little lozenge bit went flying. Got the big spring in . Well it stands, it oscillates, it fans but the ratchet doesn't ratchet. Probably because I just poked the little spring and metal thingy into an available orifice so it wouldn't get lost and closed up the patient. I suppose eventually, I could work it out or dismantle another one to see what to do but I'm too hot.

On the news this morning they said cars were parking on roundabouts.  They should all have been impounded, although apparently nearly 600 parking tickets were issued.

Another peeve. You do the right thing and plant your honeysuckle on the shadier side of the pergola. What does it do? It  insists on constantly winding its way round to the south facing hot side and gets itself burnt. You can lead a horse to water but you can't push him in😡

If police can't actually stop these illegal raves and street parties, why don't the spray the whole area with smart water that only shows up under UV light.  Then they could arrest the morons after the event.

Didn't Johnson buy a load of water cannon when he was Nightmayor of London?

Yes he did @B3, then he decided he didn't want it and sold it.
