We have had a huge storm and violent winds this evening. Plant tubs blown over and have lost our television channels. Will have to try and find someone to re-align our dish tomorrow. The only chap we knew has retired so don't hold much hope of finding anyone quickly.

Oh dear @Floralies, I can live without TV but would be devastated about the plant tubs - not cherished plants I hope?

Footballers can hug each other, but I can't hug my daughters or new grandson
    Devon.

@Hostafan1 that’s cos they’re not caring about the possibility of infecting the person they're hugging ... and you do of course.
It must be hard ... I feel for you ... but it’ll happen and he’ll know for the whole of his life that his grandpa did everything he could to keep him safe 😊

The Metro has summed this all up brilliantly. Photo of a crowded beach with the headline 'Where isn't Wally?'
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I've never understood the sitting on a beach thing. Twenty minutes and I'm twitching to move on. The smells of a crowded beach - sweat, sun tan lotion,  onions, hot dogs, and then there's the noise. The car journeys there and back must be horrendous.
These people must live in appalling conditions, if they think this day out is a treat. Maybe we should feel sorry for them.   It must be awful to be walled up in a tower block for weeks on end. You can't blame them for wanting to escape for a while. I'd go bat***t crazy if I didn't have my garden.

I heard someone from the Council estimate that 500,000 had descended upon Dorset's beaches on Wednesday
    Devon.

I blame Broadchurch ... no one ever went to those beaches before they were on telly. Rick Stein and Doc Martin are to blame for the increase in visits to Cornwall ... 💡 maybe someone should make a TV series about Happisburgh 😎

Did it work for Jaywick Sands? I believe Turnip gave it a mention.
