Morning everyone Happy Easter Monday. Thank you Hazel and Chive, sorry to have sounded so down. Slept on and off again last night, which then made me sleep in till around 9. Woke from a really heavy sleep and now have a muzzy head.
The weather is considerably colder than yesterday. The blue skies and sunshine have disappeared and we now have a bitter wind and dark skies. Not a day for sitting in the garden today. Just popped out to put the bin out......that was enough brrrrrrrrr 😂
Ante what a beautiful Amaryllis, gorgeous colour. Chive, love your mum's pond and patio. Could just see a waterlily or two in there. So pretty. Going to get another cup of tea Take care TTFN
Wow Chive, that looks amazing. It will be lovely for you Mum to watch the tadpoles developing. Remember that the little frogs will need a way to get out of the pond so she will need a 'frog ladder'. Some strategically placed large, flat stones leading up to the side will be perfect, plus they will provide a platform for birds to bathe/drink. Excellent advice about no fish though. Wildlife and fish do not make happy neighbours.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning - what a dip in temperature! After a week in the garden I think today may be a day inside.
Need to get things ready for tomorrow. We've decided we shouldn't travel up to Yorkshire this afternoon as planned. The Sth Yorks police are being quite zealous and they're being especially vigilant over the Bank Holiday. Today, they could quite legitimately stop us and make us turn round and drive home. Tomorrow will be ok because we are travelling to the funeral of a close relative which is allowed.
In theory we should go to the funeral, turn round and come straight back home again. As we have to be up at about 3.30am to drive nearly 200 miles (the funeral is early in the morning) I don't think we'll be safe to drive another nearly 200 miles back straight away. So we will spend some time with MIL (not allowed, but she wants us to do it) and then either drive home tomorrow evening or Wed morning.
Very difficult to comply with the regs tomorrow, but we'll try to exercise common sense as best we can.
Lovely pond Chive. Ante and the others have raised some good points. Whatever you and your mum decide I hope it's a success.
LB & SGL. We've all had this lingering cough. Mine's still there and I'm surprised some people haven't suffered whiplash the way their heads whip round if I dare to cough in the supermarket😬
I regularly think back to how grotty I felt in September - temperature, aches and pains, really dreadful cough - never developed into a proper cold - picked it up in Sth Germany etc etc I've also often wondered if I've actually had the Covid virus or a mutation of it.
If they develop an antibody test to see who has had the virus I would volunteer to be tested like a shot.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Morning all. Chive the pond looks great and it’s lovely to have some frogs. Ante lovely Amaryllus looks very healthy. Debs enjoy yourself at the allotment today. LB 91 passed so quickly. Hope you have a good day. Lily hope your feeling a little better.
Afties all. It has definitely been brrrrrr today. The sun is just trying to kid me that it is warm outside. I don't BELIEVE it! SGL, you snuckered in earlier. T'bird, I think you have made the right decision about travelling to Yorkshire. You do not need any added stress. We all know that you and your OH will be sensible - as are we all - the sooner we can break the communication of this dratted virus, the sooner we can start planning on getting our lives back to normal.

Topbird Topbird wishing you well for you both on your journey tomorrow. LB it will be nice to be more sociable in the future. I haven’t seen my sister in some weeks now. Although it’s sensible and I will follow the guidelines we do feel we are missing loved ones, but value everyone’s health for the future. Wishing you all good health. Chive I was able to sit out in the garden this afternoon after a cooler morning listening to nature. Hazel I’m glad your finger is feeling better.
Topbird, will be thinking of you tomorrow. Take care, safe journey Thank you Rosie, feeling better than I was. Glad your finger is better Hazel. Just watched the last episode of Liar, really good! Last episode of The Nest tonight
